So many issues, so little time!

Hello all,

Not posted in quite a while so a little bit of history 1st. I have dilated cardiomyopathy which was controlled by drugs for 15 years or so, had an ICD fitted a few years back as a precaution (its fired twice now and if your on the list to have one and worrying, its not as bad as you think it will be!)

Unfortunately I had a dose of covid earlier this year that lead to a blood clot followed by my 1st heart attack in March this year. I've since had a stent fitted and the number of drugs I take more than doubled overnight which is what brings me here today.

I've recently started to have real trouble sleeping or getting to sleep anyhow. This started if I tried too nap during the day but now this has spread to the night too. It is tough to describe what actually happens but it seems to me that unless I am consciously controlling my breathing i suddenly find myself puffing and panting like crazy, I also get a very severe sensation that's similar to falling backwards with your eyes closed. The only thing I can do to stop it is open my eyes and focus on something in the room (usually the clock telling me its now 3am and you've not been to sleep yet)

I can only assume this is drug related so wondered if anyone else has ever had similar symptoms?

Thanks

Jon

Have you talked with your doctor or cardiac nurse about your symptoms?
