Hi, I am new to this site I am looking for some hope!

I'm 40 with AMH of 1, 6 follicles seen on my ovarian assessment.

I started my icsi journey when I was 33 my husband sperm dose swim as it should. NHS 2 eggs they did not divide correctly. Age 34 I went private AMH 8.4, 11 follicle seen on my initial ovarian assessment I done acupuncture we got 3 eggs 2 fertilised both a good grade transferred on day 3 none stuck.

I want to use my own eggs they suggested egg donor I refused. Can I do anything to boost your AMH? I am on DHEA 75mg I have been taking this for two months I take Royal jelly 1000mg, vitamin C 1000mg, cod liver oil omega 3 1000mg, co enzyme Q-10 200mg, pregnancy multi vitamin, milk thistle.

Any other successful stories I would be grateful to hear

I was told you can't really increase AMH, as that's just a measurement of your ovarian reserve. You are born with all the eggs you'll ever have and as you age the reserve goes down and you can't turn back time to increase the number of your eggs. Low AMH doesn't mean low egg quality, it only means IVF stimming won't result in many eggs retrieved. I got pregnant naturally twice with very low AMH after 2 failed IVF cycles. I didn't take any supplements or anything and I'm 42. Did they do DNA fragmentation test on sperm to rule out male issue? The basic sperm analysis won't catch that. 0 fertilization rate on your first cycle at 33 seems a bit of a red flag.

Marisa, thank you for your reply. The NHS cycle was terrible I got 2 eggs they did not divide as they should If I am honest I don’t think I was in the right medz to simulate my ovaries correctly. They would not give me another go back then because it was 4 or more for a second shot that’s why I went private. My husband has issues with his sperm that’s why they suggested ICSI rather than IVF. That’s amazing you got pregnant naturally

I like Marisa32’s response. I would suggest that the issue does not lie with you but may be due to fragmentation of your husband’s sperm DNA. This can be caused by a litany of environmental situations and I suggest you do your own Google search.

An AMH of 1 at age 40 is not miserable. And although egg quality does decline with age there is not a correlation between egg quality and success rates as far as I understand. There is nothing to be done to increase your AMH, but AMH is just a marker, and not any reason to become discouraged.

It sounds like your RE’s have been perhaps missing out on what may be your specific issue. And by that I mean your husband’s specific issue. Couples Infertility is about 40-50% due to male factors. There are anti-oxidant supplements your husband can take, but these take two and a half months before they affect sperm quality, if they improve sperm at all. (Do your own Google search for these). I’d say that you could probably back off on the supplements you’ve been taking.

For a 40 year old woman, egg donation is a fast track to a baby. I had a client, 45 years old that had two donor egg blastos transferred and she left my care a month ago, at 14 weeks and 4 days carrying two healthy twins. But if your husband is the root of your difficulties, you need to speak with your RE about options. Good luck! ( :

Thank you for your reply, I will google and get him on the vitamin he needs to help boost his sperm we have time our date to start is September the 7th due to COVID everything is delayed. I have stated taking vitamin D and I am doing weekly acupuncture. Donor eggs are not for me if can not use my own eggs then my journey ends. For us it’s about having our own child, with mine and my husband DNA. I am very lucky I have a nice life a wonderful husband, great family and friends. The missing part is our own child but if that’s not meant to be then my life will take another path. I pray for a miracle hope is something we need to help us through this horrific journey. If I had known in my 20s that my eggs were diminishing I would have frozen some. My mum went through early Menopause which can be hereditary all these factors need to be talked about more for young women wanting to further there career or having children later in life there is not enough coverage of infertility in the media.

I too closed myself off to an egg donor cycle. But here I am set to have my transfer on 7/30. Don’t totally close that door. Gods ways are not our ways so if he wants you to use a donor egg which that baby would be as much apart of you as any other…then get your miracle baby girl!😁

So just my 2 cents worth .. I had an AMH of 4 pmol at 33.. now 35 after changing my diet and going on supplements it had jumped to 7pmol .. so i don't necessarily agree that AMH can't be improved.. I think and have read AMH can be a reflection of follicles starting the growth phase as you can only have a higher AMH with increased follicles.

I found out I had MTHFR so straight away went on methly folate and Methyl b12 high doses, 600mg coq10, 2000mg omega 3 (high epa and dha) .. 4000iu vitamin D. Vitamin D can artificially low AMH results .. equally i found out I have immune dysfunction - very high natural killer cells and cytokins that can also lower AMH and cause inflammation so went on medicinal mushrooms for this ..

Will be starting another cycle soon and hoping for a good response

Thank you for your reply Letro,

This is refreshing to hear, what test did you take can I buy this over the internet or do I have to do this via a my fertility clinic?

I have just started taking vitamin D as so forums tell you to take it I would hate to be doing more damage without knowing.

I start my cycle on the 7th September they will take my bloods and talk about my cycle and start me on Norethisterone the my Prostap Injection, Ovaleap Injection (225iu). . Ovitrelle Injection 250 dosage. I pray this will work for me
