In 2015 my son was also treated for a brain tumour along with chemotherapy and
radiotherapy
, his life has been a constant battle and after the surgery to the brain tumour he has had to learn to do absolutely everything again, from speaking, eating, moving and walking.

I had Breast cancer 5 years ago and my friend who is a nurses thinks it might be to do with
radiotherapy
that has impacted on my bowl? Has anyone heard of this. I’m on the FODMAP diet which isn’t making a difference. I have been stressed lately and I’m on sertraline for depression.

MONOTHERAPY FOR NEWLY DIAGNOSED PROSTATE CANCER
Then he mentioned that the efficacy of
RadioTherapy
(RT) diminishes radically if/when I go Castrate Resistant (CR). Testosterone (T) is the main meal for PCa, mostly produced in the testicles. Castration can be done physically, hormonally or chemically. "Why should that be," asked I.

today is the second radiation treatment (out of 25) for what my new radiologist is calling Oligomatastic* stage 4 prostate cancer.
such a strange feeling to have been told that this might act as a curative (not palliative) treatment. That I might be able to go off of Lupron...or that it might just give me a somewhat durable remission. All things I haven't dreamed possible for the past 5 years of treatment post radiation. It's

Studies of stereotactic ablative
radiotherapy
(SABR) have yielded encouraging results, but trials to date had small numbers of patients and limited enrollment to patients with limited metastatic disease burden (generally one to three metastases).

Anyone using cannabis based products such as CBD, CBN or THC?
He is due to start 12 weeks of chemo/
radiotherapy
in a couple of weeks time with the aim of the treatment being ‘curative’. We are, of course, desperate for a positive outcome.

Boosting immunity before chemotherapy / radiotherapy begins: any advice? Does anyone ask for Vitamin B12 to boost immunity?
Alan should start his 12 weeks of chemotherapy /
radiotherapy
in about 2 weeks time providing his kidney function test is ok. Somebody suggested asking for Vitamin B12 to be given before treatment, to boost immunity. Has anyone done this?

ProtecT Randomized Clinical Trial: Patient outcomes by treatment received - active monitoring, prostatectomy, or radiation
This is a planned re-analysis of the only clinical trial ever to randomize men with localized prostate cancer to active monitoring, prostatectomy or radiation therapy. They analyzed by the actual treatment received rather than the intended treatment. https://pcnrv.blogspot.com/2020/02/protect-randomized-clinical-trial.html

Dangers of turmeric
It should be avoided during chemotherapy and
radiotherapy
. Circumin has some estrogenic properties and should be avoided by breast cancer patients, it also has shown to decrease platelet function and so should be avoided by those on blood thinning therapies.

Chemotherapy After Prostatectomy for High-Risk Prostate Carcinoma
We might have offered some of these patients adjuvant
radiotherapy
, or even encouraged some of them to get it. Brian Lewis: It seems a little bit strange, but I was thinking that same thing.

Back in the game
I went through a range of emotions - shock , denial and mostly anger that this could happen to me at a time when I was feeling so fit and well and had such big plans - but as the advert says ' cancer doesn't care about you' I had an operation followed by a course of
radiotherapy
and chemotherapy to shrink

Forgive me for being sad when my intellectual side says I should be joyful. Joyful that my husband is fighting hard to push PCA out. Unlike some, I am blessed to have my husband of 26 years beside me but my life is irreparably changed It has been a little over 14 months sine my husband and best friend
