I have had IBS for many years which comes and goes and normally passes after a good nights sleeps, but for the pass week Iv had constant burning pain and cramps in the whole of my stomach area. I went to the DR he prescribed melbevine it doesn’t seem to be doing much.
I had Breast cancer 5 years ago and my friend who is a nurses thinks it might be to do with radiotherapy that has impacted on my bowl? Has anyone heard of this. I’m on the FODMAP diet which isn’t making a difference. I have been stressed lately and I’m on sertraline for depression. Could it be the start of chrons? Also my poo are looking okay. I drink plenty of water and do yoga, I’m 40 years old and this is starting to get me down now. Please help x

Sorry to hear of your situation. It is very good that you are managing to poo and they look OK. Have you tried anything like Renee Deflatine or Windeze (i.e. products containing simethicone), in case it is something as simple as trapped gas? I can't comment on the radiotherapy, however if you're still not well after trying those, I would go back to the doctor and explain that the mebeverine and low fodmap diet aren't helping and ask for further tests/investigation to be conducted. For example they could do a full spectrum blood test including calprotectin.
Thanks for responding back! I’m now constipated but the burning paining has eased off! I’m just really bloated. Hopefully it will pass. Yes I think I will ask for those tests you recommended thanks again
