Anyone using cannabis based products such as CBD, CBN or THC?

Now that Alan’s oesophagul cancer has returned/metastasised, this time to the right of his spine, we are looking at everything that may help in killing/controlling/reducing the cancer cells. He is due to start 12 weeks of chemo/radiotherapy in a couple of weeks time with the aim of the treatment being ‘curative’. We are, of course, desperate for a positive outcome.

There is a lot of talk about cannabis products helping to kill/reduce/control cancer cells but it’s hard to know how genuine the information is. And it’s very hard to know which products are authentic. I’d be very grateful for any information/links/recommendations anyone can give.

We have discussed the principle with the consultant and he’s not against it but did warn that taking such products could cause confusion in trying decide what is causing any side effects: cannabis based product, chemo or radiotherapy. Of course he couldn’t recommend any particular product.

Hi, I am sorry to hear that Alan is going to require further treatment but very glad they are going for curative.

I live in Australia but originally from Canada.

You can read my profile to see my history with OC, pretty rough.

I take CBD twice a day for nausea and back pain.

I do not have any side affects.

Back home in Canada I know a lot of people who take it regularly for many different reasons. It is fully legalised in Canada.

It is new to many doctors so I find they always sit on the fence.

It certainly helps with my nausea, back pain and anxiety.

If I was doing my chemo and radiation over again ( I pray not to have to) I would be taking it.

Best of luck

In the UK its legal for CBD without THC. Have been using CBD oil. Wife vouchers it for her pains.

Whether it helps cancer or not, it does help pains and not addictive.

Perhaps it can help with nausea with the chemo.

In such circumstances no health practice would take responsibility out of their expertise.. so if you feel happy to try something, try within reasons and one at a time to gauge the side effects or contra indications etc.

We see, what worse could happen theory. Every bit of help. Is a good one.

Hi, sorry to hear that cancer has returned. CBD oil works for some people but it did not work for I as it did not numb the pain nor gave me appetite. I had diarrhea instead. it’s trial and error.

Best wishes,
