Post vasectomy pain syndrome
Nearly 6 years ago I had a vasectomy, from day 1 I've had debilitating pain so bad that even strong pain killers such as pregabaline and cocodamol didn't even touch it. I'm now on morphine patch due to addiction to codeine. I'm now hoping to have the local anaesthetic in target area. It has pretty much

Different approaches to delivering injections
I sometimes wonder if there is ‘best practice’ in delivering injections or is it always down to the individual practitioner. Last Friday I had the same person give me injections as one time when it took 5 days to recover. She is very kind and takes her time, explains every move, cleans well. and

Follicular thyroid cancer
I was diagnosed with a benign goitre back in 2015. After noticing they had grown I’ve had further investigations and then a partial thyroidectomy. I have been told I have follicular cancer and now need to have the rest removed and potentially nuclear iodine. My tumour was encapsulated in thyroid but

Pneumonia and pleurisy. Backpain
Just a heads up. I have had an excruciating pain under my ribs on one side, on my back. After a week GP prescribed Codeine Phosphate A week later I went back and Was sent to the hosp. I have pneumonia and pleurisy exactly where the external pain is. I don’t have a cough but have been having hot flushes

Pains
Hi guys I came off my period about 5-6 days ago, I’m in agony. I’ve got this pain on my right side it feels as if there’s something there and it gives off a cold like sensation. It hurts more when I’m sitting and it feels like a ton of pressure. I’m not sure what to do, I’m taking codeine, I feel exhausted

Levothyroxine dose adjustment postpartum -- urgent
Hello community! hope you can help me. I am 7 weeks pp. I have Hashimoto's but was not overt hypo and actually in remission before getting pregnant. My TSH shoot up to 4 during pregnancy so I was put on 50 ucg levo with which I worked really well. Upon delivery, I had 4 different expert instructions

Iodine for injections and hyperthyroidism
Any nine have hyperthyroidism? I am suspected of having this as I had done very dodgy TSH and T3 results and am having further blood tests a day after my next injection. I read somewhere that iodine can make hyperthyroidism work and since it’s squirted straight onto the eye prior to an injection I wonder

Graves thyroid eye disease (TED) post-thyroidectomy?
Hi all, new here and would appreciate any info you may have re this issue. I've had Graves and associated TED for the past 5 years, and not wanting to be on meds any longer, and also to hopefully help the heart, I scheduled TT for end of 2020. Here is my question: since Graves is the immune system attacking

Undecided on treatment
I’ve read so much about RAI and anti thyroid drugs and I still can’t decide which route to take. I know there are risks with both. I have been diagnosed with Graves and I’m currently on Propylthiouracil. I would like to get pregnant at some point so if I go down the tablet route and end up in remission

Should I be taking this.
Hi everyone I’ve had loads of advice from this site and I’m still seeking it. I’ll give you a quick synopsis of what I’ve been going through and where I am now. I have had RLS what seems like forever. I took Ropinirole for 10 years, went through augmentation, developed a gambling problem and managed

Fascinating Graves’ Antibodies Study
This is a remarkable study https://eje.bioscientifica.com/view/journals/eje/158/1/69.xml . A couple of caveats. 1. I fortunately have no experience of Graves’. 2. I have not looked for similar studies that may report different results. The study is excellent in that patients were randomly assigned

CT Scan with AF
Good morning everyone. Has anyone here been for a a CT Scan whilst in AF? I have a scan next week and I've been in persistent AF for the last 3 weeks. The reason I ask is because for some people the Iodine dye causes palpitations and elevated HR. Tim

Excruciating back pain
I’m waiting for my appointment to go through with gyny and have a scan on Wednesday. I’m on codeine and mefenamic acid. I’m very constipated lol. I’m still getting cramping and ovary pain. The pain has moved right across my lower back for the past week and it’s excruciating. Is this common?

MMC update (long post sorry)
It’s been a few weeks since I was last on here. It’s been three weeks since I was told at my 12 week scan I’d had a mmc and it feels like the longest time of my life. After my initial appointment at the epu and they told me I had to wait 2 weeks to see if I’d miscarry naturally, I had a lot of stomach

VEG 1
I've been using the VEG 1 supplement for about a year but have discovered that one of the components, iodine, is something I shouldn't supplement as doing so is likely to increase the risk of auto immune attack on the thyroid. As I have a thyroid disorder this is not acceptable to me. I need to find

Natural thyroid meds
Hi. After I had my children I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and subsequently received radio active iodine treatment (to destroy part of my thyroid) and have now need hypothyroid for 15 years. I think that in all of this time I have felt a bit depressed - or rather I struggle to enjoy myself. I wondered
