Lupus Nephritis IV
Was diagnosed with lupus last month. I’ve been suffering joint pain and inflammation since end of July this year. Had an urgent kidney biopsy last week and found out yesterday it’s lupus nephritis class 4. Since starting 30mg prednisolone, Adcal D3 & hydroxychloroquine I’ve felt good as new. After yesterday

Here is a frightening statistic: "In 2011, 70% of hospitals averaged 1 robot-assisted
radical
prostatectomy
per week or less".

PMR and rib pan
Hi all, My PMR started getting on for 3 years now and my main symptoms for the past year have been pain in my rib cage, collar bone and neck; rib cage pain in particular (feels like you've been hugged by a bear!) I've only been on a low dose (1 or 2 mg pred) for this time but when I saw my GP he said

Fingers crossed, I'm fine so far
Hello As a newbie, I'll relate my journey to date. I can't recall any stress or viruses, but I had worsening symptoms of runny eyes, jaw/ear ache, sore neck and headache. Over 3 weeks this was diagnosed as hay fever (pharmacist and GP) and sinusitis and possible Norovirus - reaction to antibiotic

Leflunomide
Off to see consultant today. He says he wants to try Leflunomide if I haven't got down to 10mg pred. I've just got to 10.5 but struggling. Anyone else been offered this? Also Alendronate is being put forward which I am really worried about. I am on Adcal D3 but have never had a Dexa scan. Any suggestions

Massage to loosen painful scar tissue
Someone recently mentioned having significant pain due to residual scar tissue following prostatectomy surgery. Seek out a massage therapist offering myofascial release or deep tissue massage which can breakup scar tissue anywhere in the body. My daughter used to perform this type of massage on post-op

Very concerned about thyroid lab results
I'm sorry if this post is long but I have been having a fight with my GP for a long time. I was diagnosed with hypo around 15 years ago as I was feeling extremely tired and weak. I suspected hypo as my mother had it. I had also been diagnosed 5 years earlier with severe depression and advised after

Dexa results..at last!!
Well, more than 3 months after I had the scan I finally got my results today....from my GP!! haven't heard anything from rheumatology, but I was working on the premise of no news is good news!!! Anyway..it is good news!! :-) It was normal and in fact slightly better than 2 years ago!! So I feel justified
