A little update
Hi, I haven't blogged for a while so I thought I would today. Well I have now managed 22 weeks of not smoking. It does need to be noted though, that without my e-cig I would never have achieved that. I take my hat off to anyone who manages without some kind of substitute but we all have to find

A GOOD DAY
This blog is a bragging blog - it is completely different to my usual blogs because it relates to a brilliant day that we (himself and me that is) had on Sunday last, 9th June. We attended our second car show of the season at a park in a town about 40 minutes away from where we live. The day dawned

3 JUMBO JETS :-
Imagine three jumbo jets filled to capacity crashing in the United States every single day 365 days a year, killing everyone on board. Horrific to think about, but this example represents the number of precious lives lost to tobacco day in and day out in the United States alone. Unfortunately, cigarette

MIND OVER MATTER
That’s what my parents used to say when I said ‘I can’t do this’ and then they would patiently explain that the majority of the time it was getting your mind to understand and/or comprehend that this was the way it was going to be and that I could do it and besides that, there was no such word as can

And the beat goes on.........
Tomorrow I will have been stopped smoking for 19 whole weeks. Apart from the blip in April when I smoked 18 cigs over a few days, then picked myself up, ditched the junk Champix and carried on. 19 weeks of stress, misery, tears, and hair pulling later how do I feel. Umm, exactly the same. Could still

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD .....
..... Until death do us part. Now which one of us, if any, would link that phrase to smoking – our wedding vows most definitely but smoking – no, I don’t think so. But if you really, really think about it the phrase couldn’t be more appropriate to/for us smokers. How so? Well, by partaking of

THIRTY SECONDS
It only takes thirty seconds to change one’s life for ever. In thirty seconds we can say words that can mean the difference between life and death. In thirty seconds we can tell someone “I love you” and in thirty seconds we can also say “I hate you”. In thirty seconds we can commit to doing an act

Two days together -urrghh!!
This is getting worse - not a good day at work - All workmates being smokers and I don't even get the peace of being able to spend 3-4 mins outside away from the stress. Someone in the office arguing black is white telling me I was incorrect - when in fact they were wrong as it turned out. No apology

If it only takes 24 - 48 hours for nicotine to leave your body, why would I want to use NRT?
For those of you 'toying' with the idea of whether or not to use NRT have a read through the following information that I put up a while ago. It's also worth reading through it as you may understand how those nicotine receptors in that brain of yours work; When you first stop smoking, it is true

STRANGE but true
Isn’t it funny how sometimes one thinks that we are immune to something? That nothing anyone can say and anything that they do, can hurt us. We all have an inner defence mechanism - we have to have to survive life’s knocks and bumps and so forth and I really believed that my defensive walls were impregnable

I HATE
Being to weak to take control of my life. Not being able to say no to many things but especially nic. Not being able to ‘brighten up’ and be happy that I’m alive. Not being satirsfied with what I have got not what I haven't. Not being able to fathom out why I joined this forum when I can’t even last

ARE WE .....
Angry because we are frustrated or are we frustrated because we are angry? Similar to the question “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” or is it one of those questions that either has loads and loads of answers or no answer at all? My blog ‘I REALLY MUST’ actually inspired this one because

I REALLY MUST …..
Practice what I preach – the phrase may be old but it is still very easy to say to others but so damned hard to do yourself!!!! Someone has very kindly said that my blogs help a lot of people on this forum so, if that is the case, why don’t they help me, the writer. At the time of writing they do

So near to and surrounded by areas like this!! My trusty little camera caught this view yesterday afternoon whilst walking my dogs. Isn’t life just absolutely glorious!!! Well, I’ve finished getting the car ready for the show tomorrow – started yesterday and done the finishing touches today. Hey,

Hey guys its been a while since I've been on.. Just super doooer busy.. Still not smoking and am starting to see some real difference in my health. I have started going swimming again - before I quit I struggled to swim.. I'd get out of breath or start coughing.. Well I've been back swimming in order
