CRAVINGS!
The following post was taken from our tubbys post a couple of months ago. Think for a moment of your life as a tightly woven piece of fabric. Each thread represents your life events and experiences, and running alongside the many "life" threads are threads of a finer gauge. They are so fine in fact

I want to try again. Words for anyone who's thinking of going back.
This post was written by one of our members (Katdol) about 10 months ago. It's just a word of advice for us all. I quit smoking for 7 months cold turkey and relapsed. It was the biggest mistake of my life. I have been smoking (heavily) for a month now. And I'm right back to coughing and wheezing just

Having a beer...
But the reason my EP and I decided to do the ablation was because I told him I’m young and I don’t want to
quit
drinking
alcohol. I enjoy my social activities with friends. I guess my question is I’m back to normal with everything else in my life.

New and need advice
For a variety of reasons, in late April I
quit
drinking
alcohol completely. I felt like my wine habit was getting out of control and truth be told had been so for over 15 years. It's hard not to make some sort of connection to this.

Has anyone had Ascites disappear, but then return?
I
quit
drinking
as soon in April. I eat an obsessively healthy diet with liver healthy foods. I take Milk Thistle, NAC, and Schisandra as well as other researched vitamins. I pay for blood tests out of pocket every 2 weeks to keep track of progress. All my numbers have improved a lot.

PD Diet
I don't miss fruit juices and I had
quit
drinking
any kind of soda long before the CKD diagnosis (my illness was caught very late.....Stage 4 - GFR of 23). I felt good for staving off dialysis for 3 years! I really started this post to ask about the cottage cheese, but I got carried away.

Any statistics or info on Life span after quitting alcohol? Friend is panicking
But now hes wavering, keeps fretting about all the people he knew, including former drinkers who “died young “, even if they
quit
drinking
. He’s very depressed by this, feels “doomed”. He hasn't gone back to drink yet.

Guilt
I had
quit
drinking
to help ease my anxiety and I was doing really well. I stopped completely for two months and then for a couple of weeks it seemed that I could just have one glass of wine here or there..... Until last night.

Husband Passed Away Last Week
Eight months ago he found out he had this and
quit
drinking
completely. Sadly, though completely sober for 8 months, he hadn't completed alcohol dependency counseling so he got too sick to be put on the waiting list for a transplant here in New York. It was a brutal 8 months.

Safest way to loose weight
I have
quit
drinking
, which is great but I still have to have lose weight (loads, like 100lbs). I thought quitting drinking was hard, but compared to keeping on a diet I find it easy; there's a simple goal with sobriety (don't drink), but a dozen variables with diet (have you had enough fruit?

Signs of compensating?
He
quit
drinking
immediately, his belly has gone down a lot, he’s not as jaundiced as he was, he’s eating a very low sodium and organic diet (fruit, veggies, a little lean meat, protein smoothies). He feels and looks so much better. Are these positive signs that his liver is compensating?
