Restless legs relieved.
Hi, Hello, Re: program on Channel 5, Tuesday 23 July 2019, 10:15 pm, relating to restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). I’m 87 years old, a retired engineer. I could empathise with all the people on the program, who suffered from the condition. And that’s because I’ve had RLS for more years than I care to

Could this be Vasculitis?
Hi I’m new here, don’t know that I have Vasculitis so wondered if you’d be able to share some symptoms with me, I don’t necessarily want to visit a GP and ask them do I have it. It’s never been suggested but when I took quinine for cramping in leg/foot/ankle I came out in a red rash on my feet where

Back on the Trails
After some bad chaffing from the Serpent Trail, I set off last week for a long training run for in preparation for the Great North Run in September (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/catherine-fairlamb-greatnorthrun) for which I am raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity in memory of my aunt

I dread my bed
Hi all. I'm new here so please be gentle. I have had RLS for as long as I can remember and it's still beating me. As a child I had bad 'growing pains', and acute anaemia, then in my 20's, acute leg pains which I put down to standing long hours at work. I would have to press my feet against a solid surface

Do Quinine, Prednisone and Prilosec play nice?
My rheumy advised me to drink tonic water with quinine every day to relieve foot and leg cramps. I read differing opinions about safety and efficacy regarding this prescription. It does help me. Does anyone have experience with this? Heard of it? Contraindications? Blurry62

Quinine and atrial fibrillation
A doctor prescribed quinine sulphate tablets for my leg cramps years ago and said I could take them for the rest of my life. Nearly two years ago I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation. Some months later I read of a connection which had been found between quinine and irregular heart rhythms. I then

Muscular pain, buttocks, thigh, calves and feet
Hello, Happy Easter 🐣 my muscles are burning and painful and I just can’t let them relax. I feel like I want to switch them off. I’ve had this many times since a night out in 2013 at a summer quiz held in a marquee, it was surprisingly damp and I sat on a chair with a metal frame and partially leant

Quinine 200 mg For Leg Cramps
Is anyone on Quinine Sulphate 200mg / 300mg for leg cramps. I’m having the most horrendous leg cramps & the haemo suggested I try it. Just wondering if anyone else has benefitted from it before adding another tablet to my collection.

RLS Miracle cure. Tonic Water. Plain and Simple.
A couple of years ago my ankles and calf muscles started getting jittery every night while sat at my PC. It crept up on me over some weeks before I realised that I had a very nasty problem. It was as though I had run a marathon the day before and I constantly needed to bend and twist my ankles and

Is a tonic the tonic?
Has anybody tried Tonic water? A friend of mine suggested it to me, and I've been having a couple of glasses each night. It's been wonderful, much less pain and movement and actually getting sleep. As you may know it contains a substance called Quinine, which can be got in tablet form from your GP.

Good morning all I have recently had two total knee replacements, June 2017 and February 2018. The first TKR was a nightmare, the pain was horrendous., the second not as bad. Consequently I was on high doses of morphine for about 20 months. Coming of morphine wasn’t easily and this is when I started

[Off-topic] Coffee or tea? The answer might be in your genes
I glanced at this article earlier and would probably have ignored it. Until I saw a word which is so very specifically important in the context of thyroid! It just might be slightly interesting! [i]
