Is anyone on Quinine Sulphate 200mg / 300mg for leg cramps. I’m having the most horrendous leg cramps & the haemo suggested I try it. Just wondering if anyone else has benefitted from it before adding another tablet to my collection.

Good morning Raphael

I try to keep well hydrated,I wear bed socks.

Are you suffering from night sweats too

Flight socks may help.

Flex your calf muscles. I get night cramps in my feet and calls.

Bed socks do help.

Fashion jeers though.

Keep safe and well.

Kind regard Annemarie.

I have taken quinine 200mg for severe leg cramps in my shins and thighs for around 6 years. It definitely keeps them at bay. I have tried to gradually stop taking them several times, but the cramps always come back. They are unbearably painful so I always go back to the quinine. The cramps started when I started taking hydroxy.Karen

So far I’ve taken one tablet of quinine, it takes at least 2 weeks the haemo. Thank you for replying Karen.

Hi Raphael . My other half was prescribed quinine for cramps but it bought his platelets down. He does not have an mpn. So had to come off the quinine

Just wondering are you on a statin , as these can cause leg pain.

I use magnesium oil on my legs at night for restless legs this does help. It's horrible when you have this discomfort and can't sleep. I hope it can be resolved for you.

Best wishes Sandy u

Hi there,

I too have suffered with those horrendous leg cramps and someone told me of a natural product called Calm. It is a powdered magnesium product that you make into a hot or cold drink at night and has helped tremendously. Also, epsom salt foot baths will help. Hope this has helped:)

I will give that a try, just started taking magnesium tablets and magnesium leg spray, quinine tablets, tonic water with quinine, support bed socks at night and I’ll try that Calm, ps where do you buy that from? I’ll give the Epsom salt baths a try as well. If this lot doesn’t work, I don’t know what will. Thank for your suggestions, these cramps are driving me bonkers!
