A brief intro to me and my life with PBC
The only thing ever helped me with the itch and does still to this day was a medication called
Questran
Light
. Doesn't take it away totally but does bring it down to milder tolerable levels.

What treatments for Lung Cancer?
My brother has been diagnosed with stage three NSCLC. Adenocarcinoma. He had a Mediastinoscopy/bronchoscopy to reveal the cancer was in the three lymph nodes that he had removed. This was over 6 weeks ago. They state its inoperable and incurable. He is due to start chemotherapy this week. His own GP

Questran/colestyramine availability?
I am still having problems in finding Questran or Colestyramine in this country. Boots cannot get it and I have not been able to find another source. Is anyone else taking it and, if so, where they do they get it from? Professor Read recommended it to me and I find it a great help.

Questran/Colestyramine supply problems
I take Questran on a regular basis on the advice of Professor Read and find it very effective. However twice this year I have been unable to get it from the pharmacy. We have now found that it is available in pharmacies in France. Technically you need a prescription but we have found that if you show

Can you get UVA1 light therapy in the UK?
I'm reading 'Lupus Underground' by Anthony DeBartolo, 'a patient's case for a long ignored drug free non-patentable counter-intuitive therapy that actually works'. It's a light treatment that has been shown in many studies to be successful in relieving Lupus symptoms such as rashes, joint pain, depression

Persistent Diarrhoea (plus Creon)
Every so often the problem of persistent diarrhoea comes up, and having had some discussions with people outside this forum about a particular example, I thought it might be worth setting out some ideas. It can be an enormous blight on one's quality of life. None of what follows is self-treatment

Diagnosed 17 years later!
I first noticed a problem after a trip to the Amazonian jungle in 1997. I had a few insect bites which didn't seem to heal properly. This became a chronic situation with intense itching and bleeding. My GP referred me to a dermatologist who diagnosed eczema and prescribed the usual creams and emollients

My Tips to help all those with the itch which can drive you insane day and night!! (PS photo is of me and hubbys family wedding day 1/5/14).
I have always taken
Questran
Light
which definately does help to reduce or sometimes alleviate it completely. Currently I take one sachet before and one sachet after breakfast which keeps the itch at bay during the day at least, with all the above little tricks also.

Has anybody tried the red light therapy or the light beam generator to improve lymphedema?
I have come across these two technologies and was thinking about giving the red light a go. The light beam generator instead looks a bit expensive and difficult a place where to do it.

my vitiligo is cured
My husband and I have been married for over 3 years, but we haven’t had a baby, why? Because I was attacked by vitiligo 2 years ago. We do want to have a baby, we are afraid that the baby will be infected with vitiligo. We went to many places for treatment of vitiligo, but in vain. When we heard about

Removing leukaemia cells by dialysis.?
A new method of killing just the clonal leukaemia cells has been developed. Thus in future a machine like a dialysis machine could reduce the white blood cell count very fast This is done with a form of light therapy which has achieved high rates of malignant-cell destruction in studies involving leukemia
