Hi guys *(slight trigger warning)*
Hello everyone! I am sorry for being inactive, I have just been busy with school and life in general. How is everyone doing?? I am doing okay. I don't know if anyone will get trigger about bipolar/personality disorders but if you are then I would stop reading at this point. **Yesterday was kind of a

Situational Update
I haven't posted or checked in on the site for awhile. I have been going through a lot of growth and changes lately. I had two job interviews for the first time in over ten years today thanks to my therapist and the program he got me into. I'm just one yes away from having my own place and as well as

Hi everyone, Just writing for a bit of advice please. I am 19 years old and got diagnosed in February via MRI scan (Private). I was previously on the desogestrel pill for 2 years and then had the coil fitted in March 2021 to hopefully reduce the constant bleeding and pain. This helped the bleeding

New resource/course called FNDcourage has been life changing for me, new cohort starts 11/8/21
I’ve found a great new resource and I wanted to stare it here. This course has been life changing for me. Dr Afra has a unique approach to FND and it’s been so helpful for my recovery. In addition to learning more skills, I’ve made friends and have developed a truly supportive community. I was diagnosed

Dealing with fluctuating anxiety
I have dealt with anxiety and depression for most of my life. I have learned coping skills like grounding and meditation and many other ways of making the best of a bad day. But recently even if I’ve calmed down pretty well and even feel relaxed during the day, I have been waking up to close to terror

Changing routine
It’s been a while since I’ve signed on, but I wanted to share my story as I know so many of us go through the same things. I’ve learned over and over again in therapy what triggers ocd and things that create a loop back to tough times. For me, it seems to always be a perfect storm of falling ill (I’

So today I went to my school's therapy center to try and get some help for my anger and emotional issues. The therapist was great, she was very thorough, but not intrusive. She would use questions like, "how did this affect you", "is there anything else you feel should be shared that would help with

What do you think of Peer Support?
I came across this quote from the book "The Body Keeps the Score" the other day. While I have yet to read the book I'm certain I will at some point as it is a trauma book which comes highly recommended by my therapist. The quote resonates with me deeply regarding my own experience with trauma BUT it

Pandemic woes and lost progress
Hello, Not sure how to start this so I'll guess I'll just start. 2019 was a golden year, lots of friends around, had a great dog, and a couple good flings, it was just a good time all around. However as the year came to an end, two friends moved out of the house, leaving my best friend, dog, cat, and

A Not-so Happy Birthday
Today is my birthday, and I have no plans. All friends and family are busy with school and work, and my ex will be out of the apartment all day working as well. I have an appointment with my therapist in about 15 minutes and then nothing for the rest of the day. My ex did wake up this morning and wish

New depression sufferer here
Hi I’m new here. I’ve suffered with depression on and off for years, due to childhood abuse, neglect, then 2 abusive partners, one physical. Also head injury 5 years ago after a fall whilst working and had shoulder surgery this year. My abusive father died 3 years ago whilst in group therapy. Then I

Counting my Blessings
The last week or so has been hell on my mental health. I've realized things about myself I never thought possible, lost my relationship of 2 years, and am now going on a journey of self-discovery all on my own. All of this while also going through the onboarding process for a new job, in a new field.

How do you know when it’s time to see a therapist ?
How do you know when you should talk to a Dr about going about treatment for clinical depression? I struggle with it daily, yet I have never seen a therapist and quite frankly I’m scared they would tell me it’s just hormones and that theirs nothing wrong with me. I’m also scared to tell my parents that

Anyone tried hemp oil gel for joint pain?
Has anyone tried hemp oil gel for pain relief? I had a phone consultation with the rheumy nurse today and she suggested it might help to rub in to sore hands. Apparently it doesn't contain medication, it's a natural product. At this point my hands are so sore I will try anything. She did say lots of

ADT therapists?
I have stage 4 prostate cancer and went through 6 rounds of chemo. Since I found out I have been on ADT now using Orgovyx. My wife and I are trying to find a therapist we can talk to about how to deal with the changes brought on by ADT. There doesn’t seem to be many if any therapists who specialize or
