Is inconsistent bowel and urine part of the Prostate cancer? Also almost like dementia?
We know he has terminal prostate cancer but his
PSA
is less then .1 with the six months infusion. Is this a sign that the prostate is progressing? He is in no pain which is a blessing. We found out about the cancer in March and has two infusion.

What’s the pros and cons of Casodex and Lupron as the only treatment for Gleason 4+5 (9).
My
PSA
went from 13.7 to 100 in one year. It metastasized to my pelvic area and seminal vessel. August 1, 2023 the doctor started me on Casodex, in one week and my
PSA
went from 100 down to 50. I get my
PSA
checked this Thursday August 31st and a 3 month dose/injection of Lupron.

I had RP 3/22 and
PSA
rising to .14 by 8/22 when I started Orgovyx and then later Zytiga. I've been having neuropathy side effects from Zytiga and interested if this might be better.

My treatment decisions
I also had been checking my
PSA
for years because of this. I couldn’t reconcile having been checking all these years to catch it early only to wait on active surveillance. I then chose to have a genetic test (Decipher) done. It came back a .76 (high risk).

He recently stopped abiraterone after 5 months as his
PSA
was doubling every month. While he was on abiraterone he was taking 2mgs of dexamethasone, although 1mg for the last month.

How high must the PSA levels be before cancer can be seen in a CT scan?
If with a
PSA
of 0.09 they would not show, then I might as well cancel those scans until such a time that my
PSA
level is high enough to warrant them.

Is anyone familiar with the GUN trial?
So far the information we have about his cancer: CT scan inadvertently found the tumour at the end of November;
PSA
5.9; prostate MRI - no signs of mets; biopsy Gleason 9, intraductal in one sample, perinueral in another, bulging of the capsule, no sign the cancer has left the prostate yet.

Help! Hubby's PSA doubling time one week!
Presently

Dad with Stage 4 PCa - Need some words of wisdom...again please!
To keep you up to speed - 3 months ago, his ADT injections stopped working and his
PSA
started to climb up slowly. Oncologist put Dad on Enzalutamide - been on it for 6 cycles - tolerated well but his
PSA
has gone from 76 to 87 in one week. So Enzalutamide has started to become 'ineffective'.

Dizziness from Zytiga/prednisone?
he was hoping we coudl keep
PSA
down while my Testosterone recovered, to see if that woudl make me feel better. to use his words, i have 'complained bitterly of the disruptive side effects of medical castration (mostly low libido and dysphoria)' .

still here
I am still on 0
PSA
with advanced cancer. My journey is on my bio. I was diagnosed at 47 and now I’m 54 with no progression. My primary treatment was Zytiga and it is still working. I take a concoction of vitamins and regularly do hot cold therapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Switching to Lupron?
PSA
undetectable (<.064), all scans negative. Will switching to a six month Lupron shot cause testosterone flare?

Metformin and rosuvastatin
3 years ago I was diagnosed with unfavorable Gleason 7, with an initial
psa
of 6.4. Three months later I had an RP and have been undetected since. This week I started taking metformin for high sugar levels, I have also been on first atorvastatin and now rosuvastatin for 3 years.

Interesting PSA observation
After chemo-cycle-1 my
PSA
jumped from undetectable to 0.26 within three weeks, which scared me a lot. Now, after chemo-cycle-2 my
PSA
is back to undetectable. A
PSA
flare can be a side effect of this chemo & medications, not necessarily a sign of castration resistance.
