It is hard to find a report/article on Metformin that is not full of medical speak. How does anyone know if their NKX3.1 is low or high? 3 years ago I was diagnosed with unfavorable Gleason 7, with an initial psa of 6.4. Three months later I had an RP and have been undetected since. This week I started taking metformin for high sugar levels, I have also been on first atorvastatin and now rosuvastatin for 3 years. I am 5' 9" and 167 lbs. I wonder if the metformin and rosuvastatin will play a part in keeping the pc at bay.

Metformin and rosuvastatin
If it was me, I wouldn't worry about it. First, you had an RP so no more prostate tissue to worry about. Second, you are being treated for conditions that will impact you now which should be a greater concern.
You do know this is a Advanced Prostate Cancer board. Some members get annoyed with these posts on this board. You should move over to the Prostate Cancer forum for these type of posts.
Probably wishful thinking. I was taking both years before I got stage 4 prostate cancer.
You may well have pre-diabetes (metabolic syndrome). And you might be cured of your prostate cancer. Only time and monitoring will tell. Get on top of your biggest risks. The forum on "Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation" (on HU) will be your primary forum.
Get a 3 hour oral glucose tolerance test with insulin levels from a good Internal Medicine doctor. A CGM would also be useful. Metformin and the Rosuvastatin are certainly beneficial for you regardless of any small effects on PCa that may or may not be there.
Answer(s)? Metformin and rosuvastatin, make that strikes instead of strats......
