Lupron was helpful
Both Lupron and Zytiga have brought my
PSA
and Testosterone to 0.1 and <3, respectively. I was off Zytiga for two weeks because of pain in the scrotum, and weight gain (6 lb). especially in the abdomienal area. I am just restarting it again today.

ART Outcomes Of Salvage Radiotherapy (sRT) For Recurrent Prostate Cancer (PCa) After Radical Prostatectomy (RP)
Median pre-SRT
PSA
level was 0.4 ng/mL (0.2-7.4 ng/mL). After SRT, 47 (56%) patients had undetectable (<0.1 ng/mL)
PSA
levels. [Mine were undetectable for 4 months] After median follow-up of 48 months (2 months to 10 years), 25 (30%) patients had further biochemical progression.

PSMA PET scan
PSA
88. He is 58 so don’t qualify for Medicare yet. Doctor put in order for PSMA PET scan for husband and BCBS denied. We will appeal. I’m sure they won’t approve until we do a bone scan and MRI. He already did CT and it was clear.

PSA Bounce
After treatment
PSA
decreased gradually with a small bump to 0.5 and stayed at that level for two readings six months apart. Then 3 months ago I got a
PSA
at 1.96 which RO said was likely return of cancer so I had PSMA-PET and MRI, both showing no cancer.

Radiation Treatment for Gleason 8 with Rectal Lymph Node
I am 67
PSA
at annual physical March 1st was 26 then rose to 32 two weeks later with second test. Going to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Have had an MRI, Biopsy, Gleason (4+4)=8, and PSMA Pet Scan last week confirming it has spread to my Rectal lymph node so surgery is not an option.

PSA Rising
My
PSA
had very slowly declined to about 1.8 two months ago. 3 months before that it was 2.1. I just had a
PSA
test done in preparation for a phone call with my old radiation oncologist as I moved out of state to Philadelphia. When I took my
PSA
test today in two months it jumped up to 3.5.

PSA 1 month after SBRT
I completed high dose SBRT a month ago and just got my first
PSA
results. My
PSA
dropped from 10 pretreatment to 7.1. I was expecting a much greater decline. I see the Dr next week. Should I be concerned that the the decrease is not more?

Further treatment - Update
PSA
started to rise soon after. Since then I have had radiation and been more or less on Zoladex injections the whole time. I started Xtandi in April 2019 and switched to Nubeqa December 2021. The
PSA
started to rise in fall 2021 after being steady at 0.1/0.2 for a long time.

G68 PSMA vs Pylarify
If insurance covers both, at the same
psa
number which scan is more sensitive to locate bone metastases or soft tissue/ lymph node metastases. If there have been any comparison studies/ data please share. Thank you!

Does anyone else have a fave song for helping with the stress of having advanced PCa?
My
PSA
dropped to undetectable levels post-RT through now, 7 months on. PS get your bone density checked!!! Don't wait for something to break. ADT+abi+prednisone drains bone density.

Please advise
His
PSA
is 70 (climbing from 30 at the beginning of the year). Last week he received a 3-month Lupron shot and Casodex. Since then, he has been feeling a lot better, less tired, and really active. However, I am in constant fear about how long this respite can last.

Pain near groin, but no PSA detected?
His three
PSA
tests since June (with the last in January) have been undetectable. When pain was mentioned to his doc in January, his doc didn’t seem to have an answer. MyGuy has been on morphine for groin pain for about 18 months, but says this is different.
