Rising PSA and looking to change doctors
As previously posted here: https://healthunlocked.com/prostate-cancer-community/posts/150367923/rising-psa-1-year-after-ralp ...One year past my RALP it's becoming possible that I may need additional treatment. I've decided I would like to seek another opinion and also probably go ahead and switch

PSA & T is up
We started this journey in June 2022 and hit this PC with triple therapy to stop the cancer that had already attacked his whole skeleton. My husband has now developed a cancerous tumor in his head in the sinus cavity and behind his eye which has caused him double vision and pain. It’s wrapped around

New diagnosis
Hi I'm Neil, 62, I had my prostate cancer diagnosis in late December 2023. Live in England. My Gleason score 4 + 3 =7. Initial PSA test was a staggering 15.6. I'm average height, normal weight, 75 kg. A non smoker and generally fit and well with no other conditions, nor do I take any medication

Treatment options
Hi- I have posted a few times about my brother who was diagnosed in March 2021. For 18 months he did really well on Abiterone. His PSA went from his initial diagnosis of 52 to under 0.03 for several months. He has Kaiser HMO and unfortunately his oncologist retired at the time his PSA starting trending

Radio sensitizers and Microbiome
I'm about to start a slightly novel radiotherapy - we will add in distant retroperitoneal nodes. 28 treatments = 70gy. I have a two part question: 1. Has anyone an opinion or experience with using supplements as radiosensitizers. Google "radiosensitizers and prostate cancer - NIH". Lots of studies

UCLA RO says that since it's been only 4 mo since stop of 4 ms RT & 4ms orgo and my T is 80 - more t than baseline (286) may trigger cancer
I thought that you could take TRT of 100 ml and you would be safe from reoccurrence.
Oncologist today at UCLA says he wants me to work with a specialist in TRT and he would only feel comfortable then giving his OK if ONLY if the testosterone specialist takes my testosterone back to ONLY my baseline

Reporting results from Eclipse Trial
Prior to beginning trial last June I had just gone castrate resistant and PSA was at 3.3. A few weeks after the last of four injections PSA settled in at .25 so there was still something left. However PSA now has quickly shot up to .75 And since I stopped Orgovyx and Zytiga, Testosterone is going up

Has xtandi failed?
I had my lupron injection Tuesday and PSA checked. PSA 0.09, three months ago PSA was 0.06. I asked my doctor if xtandi has failed, he told me not necessarily. He told me once your PSA reached its lowest point it fluctuates up and down until it stabilized. I will have PSA checked again in 6 weeks

protein supplements: yes or no?
Since I just finished Viewray Tx at UCLA, I’m moving on to the diet & exercise research zone. I’d like input on what the latest research, if any, is RE protein supplements. Whey isolate vs. vegan protein supp? Does either one promote or suppress PCa after Tx? Also, what’s the latest on eggs? It seems

He lived a wonderful life
My father passed away on Sunday, 10/15/2023, at the age of 91. We initially learned of his very high PSA level on 10/14/2021 (two years prior), with the diagnosis of Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer soon thereafter. In addition to advanced prostate cancer, he had dementia that progressed significantly

Hello all~ I am writing as spokesperson and chief researcher for my husband, Steve. He is 75 and was dx'ed w/prostate cancer on 11/27 by his urologist after some months following a bad UTI and subsequent catheterization to "rest his bladder" by initial NP (whom we saw upon referral but subsequently

Back in permanent AF and warfarin dose decrease
Hi All, I used to have paroxysmal AF which was ablated by Prof Schilling back in 2010. I had been in NSR. However I was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in the summer. I had huge delays and postponements before I had a biopsy. I eventually got the results 5 weeks later (rather than the two weeks promised

early concerns/ paranoia
Feeling a bit guilty taking up space here before I have any real diagnosis. I’m 72 years old and my annual physical in November saw my PSA numbers double from 3.2 to 6.4 and then retested a month later they were 7. Sounds scary to me. My urologist ordered an in-home EXODX urine test 14 days ago which

Radiation and diarrhea/ GI issues/ please help
looking for other experiences with radiation. My dad just went through -4.5 weeks of radiation. I believe it was standard radiation EBRT or IMRT not sure which. It was fine at first, no side effects. By week 4 the side effects started - diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort, gas. He is so uncomfortable
