As previously posted here: healthunlocked.com/prostate... ...One year past my RALP it's becoming possible that I may need additional treatment. I've decided I would like to seek another opinion and also probably go ahead and switch doctors as well. So looking for recommendations on a urology team in the Philadelphia area. Or at this point am I looking for a radiation oncologist? Thanks for any advice.

Rising PSA and looking to change doctors
Sorry to hear you'll need additional treatment. I saw your post on another forum some time ago and it just bothers me when drxs use ".1" on their post RP tests. You could of had detectable psa from the get-go and this parameter assay hides that. I've heard good things about David Chen at FoxChase but my experience is low. Good luck to ya and glad to see you're being aggressive in taking the next steps!
My FB support group for wives maintains a "MD recommendations" list. The list is based on personal recommendations. For the PHL area, ROs that are on our list are Dr. Eric M. Horwitz at Fox Chase, Dr. Jessica Karen Wong at Fox Chase, Dr. Neha Vapiwala at Penn Medicine. The fact that two are females is an accident as females on the list is not common. I have a couple of uros: Dr. Lior Michael Hirsch and Dr. Donald D. Andersen, both at MidLantic Urology. You're likely not needing an oncologist, but I have quite a few in the MO and genitourinary MO specialty.
Thank you for this! I am thinking I'm still wanting a Urologist at this point, rather than going to a Radiation Oncologist right away. I also was leaning towards a NCI-Designated Cancer Center. I actually was originally with MidLantic Urology. Followed my current urologist from Jefferson to Einstein. I'm thinking Fox Chase based on location, but I could go to Penn or Jefferson.
