Is there a connection to ferritin level and hair loss with hypothyroidism?
Hi all, I am new posting to this website but have been reading with interest for some time! I have been suffering with hair loss for several months which is getting worse. I had bloods back in oct which were 4.86 tsh and 12 T4 ( they didn't test t3 or antibodies). I have just started on levothyroxine

Boyf taking propecia, will this affect his fertility?
Hi guys As the title says my partners started taking
propecia
for hair loss, I’ve turned to google and have read mixed things about it, how it can affect his sperm and birth defects to a baby, but I’ve also read that some people have conceived and baby was healthy, he said his dr didn’t mention anything

T4, Wild Kelp and Now T3
For 10 years I happily took Eltoxin and then it was discontinued. So I tried other Thyroxine meds but had awful side effects. So I went yo see a kiniesiologist and went one go Wild Kelp which was great, but I began to get very tired after two years. So for the last 18 months or do I tried Thyroxine

Hair loss?
I'm experiencing a lot of hairloss at the moment, it's been happening for a few months now and my hair has gotten really quite thin because of it. The doctor thinks it's to do with my hormones and endo, but for whatever reason it's getting me down. Does anyone know of anything that can help with hair

Biotin, has anyone tried it?
I'm starting to take biotin to fix my hair problem. This is still my 5th days so I can't give result soon. But I want to share things that I experienced. I think I got more itchy on the skin that has hair, my scalp, my eyebrow and even my eyelashes, so it makes my eyes feels bad too. Because of that

Newly diagnosed hair loss worse could Teva be the cause?
Hi I've had some really good starter advice on this forum already and are hoping someone can help with this. I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with Tsh level of 5.1 and one of my symptoms being hair loss. I've only been on the 50mcg Teva for 2 weeks but the hair loss is even worse could this brand be to blame

Oral minoxidil experiences?
After 2.5 years of ongoing hair loss, and not many concrete answers even from top derms and endos I’ve been prescribed oral minoxidil and I wondered if anyone else has tried it and had any experiences with its successes or failures... it’s not lisenced yet but a few dermatologists are perscribing it

Kelp
Not diagnosed with a thyroid issue, no diagnosis at all (so far), but as my previous post, have horrible symptoms. (my symptoms and my last test results are in my profile) Anyway, this post is to ask those who are more knowledgeable than I, with my levels as they are, would be doing any harm buying some

Brownstein book "iodine why you need it why you can't do without it"
Just read it now. Some very sobering facts - they are summarised over the web so anyone interested can google. I am taking solgar 200mcg sea kelp daily for past 2 weeks and feel incredibly positive about sticking with this. I do take it with plenty sea salt and 200 mcg selenium. I will retest my bloods

I've been taking 65mcg of T3 for a few months now , stopped NDT as wasn't converting ( had tests done ) . Hairloss help please!
I've recently had my Levothyroxine increased from 125mcg to 150mcg due to my tsh going from below 1 to around 10. Symptoms I've had include tiredness and a lot more hair loss than is normal for me. How long once my levels improve will I notice a reduction in the hairloss? It's worrying me now! Thanks

Hypothyroid Hairloss
Around 3 weeks ago my Levothyroxine was increased from 125 to 150 mcg because my tsh had increased from well under 1 to 10. My main symptoms were tiredness and hair loss when I wash brush and style my hair. Much more than usual! How long before my hair will stop falling so much does anyone know? It worries

Biotin supplements and some lab. tests
It's important to declare biotin and other supplements when taking lab. tests as they might interfere with a wide range of them (not all labs or tests, it all depends on the assays used). The range of potentially affected tests includes anaemia (both varieties, ferritin and B12), possible malignancies

Hypothyroidism and hair
Just another wee discovery I've made in the past month regarding my thinning and flyaway hair. I used to have a full head of thick healthy black hair that has changed texture as I've gone grey. However, since developing hypothyroidism it's been so distressing to see it fall out, frizz up and resemble

I can move and it feels amazing.
I don't want to speak too soon, but I am over the moon. I have cried with happiness this morning. After yesterday's steroid injection nightmare, today is a good day. The best day I've had in over 2 months. Nothing hurts. My joints aren't swollen. I woke up early full of energy. I could lift myself
