I've recently had my Levothyroxine increased from 125mcg to 150mcg due to my tsh going from below 1 to around 10. Symptoms I've had include tiredness and a lot more hair loss than is normal for me. How long once my levels improve will I notice a reduction in the hairloss? It's worrying me now! Thanks....

Hairloss help please!

Sarahlouise1980 With your TSH going from below 1 to around 10 it sounds as though you may have autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashi's, as has been mentioned in a previous reply on another of your threads.
You need antibodies testing, there are two types - Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) which the NHS may do if you are lucky, and Thyroglobulin (TG) which the NHS hardly ever does unless an endo requests it. You can be negative for TPO but positive for TG so both need to be done. I suggest you either ask your GP or get them done privately with Blue Horizon or Medichecks, and if you do have Hashi's (a pretty sure bet) then you need to address it.
Hairloss can be due to hypothyroidism but it can also be due to low nutrient levels. For a start, ask your GP to test
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin
Zinc
If your GP wont oblige, you can get all those (except zinc) as part of a thyroid bundle which also tests both types of antibodies from Blue Horizon (Thyroid Plus Eleven) or Medichecks (Thyroid Check Ultravit).
