Global Liver Institute’s meeting yesterday benefits everyone.......
I believe we all received via email a link to yesterday’s meeting. Thank You Wayne for providing the link. For me it was time well spent. I did not know that the FDA had, in 2020 I believe, created a Division of Hepatology. The meeting provided the opportunity for several NASH patients, and patient

Dasatinib
I was interested to see in the latest from the Mayo: "
Antidiabetic Effects of the Senolytic Agent Dasatinib
" [1] Many men with PCa are pre-diabetic at diagnosis, with some of the symptons of the metabolic syndrome [MetS]. Pre-diabetics do not necessarily progress to diabetes, but androgen deprivation

Rising PSA after chemo, next steps?
My husband, 67, was Dx with high volume aggressive metastatic PC in April. PSA was 72.8. Started degarelix, had 6 sessions of docetaxel, added abiraterone in August, consolidative SBRT in September. Lowest PSA was 0.99 right after chemo, in August. In September, 1.12, October 1.87, and now in November

Time for Yet Another Paradigm Shift
Maybe we need to pass on the Vitamin C. Clinical trial showed no increased absorption https://www.verywellhealth.com/vitamin-c-iron-supplement-study-5087131 The above trial only tested with pure vitamin C. Substances like orange juice and other fruit juices are rich in polyphenols which can decrease

A HUGE Change Regarding Dosing!
BIG news: the decades-long paradigm of leveraging the highest and most toxic dose of a cancer drug, called the Maximum Tolerated Dose (MTD), may be coming to an end! Shortly after the Patient-Centered Dosing Initiative's presentation about MBC patients’ treatment-related side effects at ASCO’s 2021

Pfizer Pill
I received this news via the New York Times which, if true, will be helpful as we learn to live with this wretched disease. A Covid pill developed by Pfizer cuts the risk of hospitalisation or death in vulnerable adults by 89 per cent, according to a clinical trial carried out by the US company. Incidentally

What to discuss with your oncologist?
This may seem like a pretty obvious question but what does everyone discuss with their oncologist at the monthly meetings? On assumption side effects remain the same, you feel in good health and there are no scans to update on I’m often at a loss at to what to discuss. I often find them pretty awkward

Question on stopping ADT - Keytruda/pembro
I asked this same question last year, but here it is again. I’m 51 now, diagnosed at 46 - ADT for the entire time, except for a high-T clinical trial. I’ve run through most SOC and then got lucky and qualified for pembroluzimab. That was my Hail Mary and now I’m basically NED. I was undetectable PSA

Transdermal estrogen and BRCA+
With BRCA2+ and on high-dose transdermal estrogen, I happened to see a reply by Richard Wassersug hidden in a thread a long time ago, about the possible danger of t2E causing accelerated prostate cancer growth for those with BRCA+ disease. I recently contacted him and he told me that he feels that this

Continued Great Results
I thought that I would share the results of my blood draw yesterday. PSA continues at <0.1 and T is at 381.0. I entered the war on May 8, 2004 with a PSA of 32.3 with mets to L2 & T3 of my spine. Through the grace of God, the power of Prayer, and a world class medical oncologist/researcher/professor
