Link to article about possible upcoming Phase III clinical trial for Parkinson's Disease sponsored by Pennsylvania based biotech - Annovis.
Here is a blurb from the article:
"Both trials [they are also doing an Alzheimer's trial] will test Annovis’s lead candidate ANVS401, an oral translational inhibitor of neurotoxic aggregating proteins (TINAPs). Each trial will likely recruit approximately 450 patients, split evenly among three groups: placebo, 10mg, and 20mg a day of ANVS401, Maccecchini explains.
The planned trials will each last six months, with the option for a one-year extension. Annovis has plans to run two 24-month Phase III studies in each indication, but currently only has funding for the shorter trials.
Phase III trials - if positive - tend to lead to an application to the FDA for approval. This trial is not yet posted on clinicaltrials.gov but should be soon.

If I am not mistaken, Annovis did not do very well in the recently concluded phase2 trial. Seems that the data was not strong or was all over the place. The market did not like it and the stock tanked from a high of close to 120 bucks to 40 bucks in 2 days - some time in late July. Does not mean that everything is over. They will have their task cut out for them.
I like Anavex that is going to be starting Phase 3 trial for PDD - PD Dementia - sometime early next year, hopefully.
They completed phase 2 in September last year and had good results - indication of improvement in cognition ! They should have completed the 48 week Open Label Study sometime late September 2021 and we should see some data any day now that would provide more insight and hope. The phase 2 trial also showed some positive outcomes for a couple of motor symptoms, even though they were secondary outcomes in the trial. (will need to verify on that, as it has been some time since I read that report).
