If you "slim smart" weight loss is not so hard! It is not all about motivation and masochism.
Some of us here find that what works is a combination of The Low Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) diet (see the forum here on Health Unlocked) and Not Snacking All Day AKA Intermittent Fasting (IF). See:
Hi Sonia if you look at our Daily Diary page you'll see the kinds of things people eat. We also have Recipes on here and Lythams Larder is good to check for those too. I'll add some links and have tagged in host of todays Daily Diary so they can look out for you..
I think avocado is lovely! It's got a creamy taste and is good with finely chopped cherry tomatoes and an oil and balsamic vinegar dressing I think. Also good mashed up(try with bacon, yum)
Raw, urmm I'm not sure, I first tried them with cream, thinking of them as a fruit but that didn't really work, they're sort of sweet savoury so I put them on whatever salad I'm having. They go particularly nice with boiled eggs and prawns, so rich and creamy! x
Yes, absolutely, bacon is my favourite closely followed by cheese ! Lol if you google diet doctor there's a full explanation on there and great recipes, even a free two week keto challenge which a lot of us have done
I seen you liked the Easter Challenge, here's the link to the latest thread if you'd like to join? x
Can I suggest starting with a premade guacamole from the supermarket fridge. They aren't brilliant, but it's a simple way of getting the taste without any knowledge.
Then go to a proper market stall or greengrocer and ask for help in picking one to eat that night. An overripe one (that's turning black) tastes awful. A underripe one is inedible. A ripe one is delicious.
Once cut, eat asap or cover with vinegar or citrus juice. The flesh oxidises quickly - as in an hour or so, not seconds or minutes!
Don't trust supermarkets. I've updated the list of the great lies
Don't forget to drop in on the LCHF group (see S11m's post for the link) if you need more specific advice.
Avocadoes are one of those things you either love or hate. The taste is unique - impossible to compare with anything else, and there are actually many different varieties with different flavours (some of which I don't like at all). The only one you're likely to see in the shops is the Haas variety.
It's best eaten with something else. Try guacamole as a dip with crispy bacon pieces.
Make sure it's slightly soft when you eat it. Otherwise it'll taste like eating a bar of soap.
I personnally follow a low carb diet and lost 3 stones 4 years ago. It is not so complicated, it is all about stopping sugar, I was initially scared as I had to stop pasta, potatoes and rice (they were the base of my meals most of the time), but I realised it was not so hard. I personnally love avocado, I often have them for lunch as I work from home and I often have lunch alone: it needs to be quick and easy. For breakfast I often have porridge, I love it and found a low carb, high protein one: I shop them in pack of 10. Sometime I love skyr too with some fruits. For lunch or I have some left over from the night before or if I am late, I take a shake to help. For diner, I cook a lot of chicken or fish with veggies. Hope it helps.
Hi Diane, I maintain my weight for a while, however actually I try to lose weight as I took weight during holiday period and I have not been able to lose them . I started on Monday a WEIGHT LOSS plan from Pickslim. Finger cross it will give me fast results.
