it’s not all asthma
I have only been officially asthmatic since 2017. I was diagnosed with cough variant asthma During that time I have had many courses of prednisolone and had a PPI added for acid reflux. This medication has been increased and my asthma medication added to and changed. In October I saw a locum GP as

Taxotere
Put on Lupron , generic Zytiga and
prednisone
and given 6 weeks of IMRT. Has to wait 3 months till June for first PSA. Have read that a follow up to the radiation is now Taxotere or another chemo. Has anyone has this therapy and what were your results?

Running out of road....
I suspect he will suggest Abi +
Prednisone
. This will probably not help much with the weakness and tiredness, but as a holding mechanism I'd go along with it. However, we all know where SOC ends up, so I'm looking at other options and would welcome your thoughts: 1.

PMR Ups and Downs
So I have been diagnosed with PMR and originally started on Prednisolone 30mg.....this plan was changed by my NHS Rheumatologist to 15mg over a longer period. I switched to this dose on Tuesday of this week and initially I didn't notice any difference.....if anything, by Thursday I almost felt at 100%

Interesting visit with Rheumy - fat not edema!
I had a very interesting visit at the Rheumy e few days ago. We discussed MtX that I have started, and I have very good effect now after 4½ month, so he will increase from 20 mg to 25, and start decreasing prednisolone. I am on 12,5 mg now so down to 10 mg, and then very slowly 1,25 mg every 6 weeks.

Good news on the bone density front
Hi, this group is helpful and supportive and feels like an extended family. So I just wanted to share a bit of good news. I had a DXA 18 months ago not long after starting Prednisolone and my scores were: -0.1 in the spine which was healthy but not so good in the hip: -1.9 Total Hip T score

Colonoscopy update
PMRPro suggested I start a new post for the update on ‘Colonoscopy and Prednisolone’, so here it is. Firstly I’d like to thank everyone for their support and suggestions, which were very helpful. I survived the pre procedure routine, disgusting though it was and spent A LOT of time perched on the

I feel I need a wheelchair. Am I missing something?
The thing is, if this isn't inflammation pain, but rather
prednisone
-induced myalgia, then it might mean I am way too high on my
prednisone
. But if it *is* inflammation pain, then maybe I'm too *low* on the
prednisone
. In the beginning, when they put me on 40mg, all my pain was gone.

MS or PMR or both
I'm at 30 mg. of
Prednisone
which helps the PMR of course, but does not touch these muscle spasms, nor the pain in my hips, back, stomach. I know 30 is high, but I'm tapering. Had a GCA scare in January and was put on 60 mg. of Pred immediately only to find out it's not GCA (or so they say).

Hi there, I’ve (24M) been on fostair as a preventer inhaler since around the age of 17/18. My asthma has been extremely well controlled on 2 puffs BD for a number of years. However a few weeks ago I have quite a bad flare up which landed me in A&E twice and had a 2 week course of prednisolone. Since

Advice Please, I am in a terrible state.
I am a mess. I was tapering my prednisolone from 3mg to 2.5 mg using a reduction over 14 weeks, starting 19th September and was progressing nicely. In November we travelled long haul UK to USA, journey no hassle, flights good. But, I did experienced emotional stress caused by a family upset while

pain relief for sciatica
I've trapped the sciatic nerve in my left hip. I have exercises which help, but still need pain relief. Paracetamol has no effect, is it safe to take ibuprofen with prednisolone? I thought I had read somewhere that it wasn't.

Prednisolone Week 1 Completed
UPDATE: So, my first week of Prednisolone is over....30mg goes down to 20mg today. My symptoms are MASSIVELY improved. I would say I'm about at 85% full functionality in all areas. I still experience some pain in my right shoulder on waking and also in my right hip. My hand stiffness has virtually completely
