Hi, this group is helpful and supportive and feels like an extended family.
So I just wanted to share a bit of good news. I had a DXA 18 months ago not long after starting Prednisolone and my scores were: -0.1 in the spine which was healthy but not so good in the hip: -1.9 Total Hip T score and Femoral Neck T score -2.1 Osteopina.
I started Alendronic Acid and have been attending a weekly ballet class for 9 months and a couple of months ago started a yoga class. Just opened the recent DXA results and they are : Total Hip T score -1.8 and Femoral Neck T score -1.8
I have recently stopped Pred and AA and intend to upI think exercise especially dance and yoga does make a difference so feel relieved and encouraged.

That is really excellent news I’m so pleased for you and it is very encouraging for me to read the difference that exercise and AA can make as I am newly diagnosed with osteoporosis. If I can at least maintain my levels it will be a positive.
Thank you Fishponds50, I think I found something sociable and enjoyable so it meant getting out of the the house and was easier to stick to in the long run. keep us posted with how you are doing.🌺
That's excellent news, and gives us all hope. My recent Dexa scan shows left femur neck a little worse than last time (2 years previously) from -1.9 to now -2.2, so still in the osteopenic range. I'm trying to up my calcium intake in the foods I eat, and am back on the K2 vitamin (still on vit D3 and back on magnesium now as well). I'm going to try to find a pilates class in the new year as well. I can't blame the steroids any more as I've been on zero since May 2022, but do know that getting older doesn't help! Thanks for your post.
Hope you enjoy the pilates . I was taking D3 and calcium and had deliveries of organic veg including grass fed free range brie, butter and some full fat milk also fermented foods like Miso and fermented garlic. I have recently stopped the calcium and just taking D3 and plenty of calcium in my diet.
I'm SO glad you added that bit 🤣, and let's face it .....a little bit of what you fancy does you good. And at those times, it's all necessary 😉. Thank you and have a very Happy Christmas 🎅🌲
