Hi everyone,We finally got out first positive after 5 failed fresh and frozen embryo transfers. I am 7 weeks 4 days pregnant. We had our firsr scan last Wednesday which showed a heartbeat and everything else was looking good and measuring as should.
I had a small bit of brown discharge last week for one day and now this week I've had it for two days. Its not a lot but obviously I am just so so worried that its a start of a miscarriage and the medication I'm on is stopping it from fully happening or it could just be old blood and be normal. but obviously my head is jumping to the worst conclusion. I have another scan booked for next Thursday with my fertility scan. I feel sick with the wait. I would love to enjoy the Christmas period and enjoy being pregnant!
medication wise I'm on progynova x4, lubion x2, prednisolone 20mg and x1 cyclogest that I take on an evening before bed.
do you think the cyclogest could be causing irritation? the last few days I have been placing it in my back passage instead. or we did have sex last weekend, could that have caused it too?
thanks in advance.

Hi there I can only imagine it is a worrying and very cautious journey trust me I get it!! When you finally get that answer you want after so long and ups and down in this journey it’s just so wanted and any little thing makes you panic.
I too had brown discharge I’m a little bit earlier into the pregnancy I haven’t yet had my scan so at first I was just sad and thinking the worst but then I did come on here and read some stories which helped and I decided I would think it was implantation bleeding as it’s very common to happen so I’m sure this is what is happening to you aswell but totally get the worry and feelings you are experiencing it’s just quite hard to take it all in your stride sometimes wish that too we could just enjoy and be so super happy to be pregnant but it’s just different and can enjoy the moments you feel good and any other feelings just be kind and gentle with yourself xxxxxxxxxxxx
thank you for kind words and reassurance. it is a rollercoaster of emotions :(. wishing you all the best over the holiday period and for your first scan xx
Please don’t worry. I had the same. Much more than a couple of days. It turns out I have a small clot behind the foetus so every time I exercice a bit or move suddenly some comes out. I was told it’s extremely common & will drain on its own. Brown blood should come really low down on our list of worries we have so many other things to keep us up at night! Congratulations x
As 1st post says brown staining can be quite common - take reassurance from recent scan with strong heartbeat This is a very stressful time for extra support take a look at our website fertilitynetworkuk.org "Pregnancy &Beyond Groups " There is also a Pregnancy Forum available as well
I get the brown discharge after scans I’ve had 2 now and a few days later got brown for a day or 2 think it’s normal it’s just old blood coming out wouldn’t worry if it’s not thick or heavy
I also had brown blood discharge at this stage of my pregnancy, it settled after 12 wks. I am now 23wks pregnant and all is well. It’s old blood which is generally not a cause of concern. Plus your scan was all good so try not to worry xx
yesterday it was more of a beige discharge and today seems normal again so I'm feeling a bit better. thank you for the reassuring replies as well, appreciate it. I'll update how my scan goes next Thursday as well. all the best for the Christmas holidays xx
just a bit of an update. we had our scan yesterday and everything is fine..baby is OK and growing well. measuring 8w6d..so so relieved. weve been discharged from our fertility clinic now which is very strange after so long being there. xx
