Hi Everyone,

It's been a while and I pray that everyone is one step closer to healing. I'm back to share good news and hopefully offer a glimpse of hope to others. My husband has recovered from PMR! This community was so helpful, encouraging and supportive that I had to come back and share. Moreover, I wanted to thank you all for sharing your experiences with me. It really helped me to cope and helped my husband to heal. I learned so much from you all. It was a 2 year and 9 month pain journey that started at 3am in the ER where he was given 50 mg of Prednisone. His body was stiff, he could barely walk, lift his arms or turn over in bed at this time. He was in so much pain. This was the beginning of his PMR diagnosis and tapering journey with his Rheumy. The battle was mentally, physically and emotionally tough. It hurt me so much to see him in so much pain. PMR forced him into an early retirement, which made him a bit depressed. To cheer him up, I gifted him with a membership to a wellness center, which helped him tremendously. Twice a week he walked in a 90 degree salt water pool, had water therapy in a heated whirl pool, sat in the sauna and did light weights. He also tried cryotherapy and red light therapy. Alongside the wellness center activities, he took a variety of supplements to include Omega 3, NAC, D3, K2, Glutathione and Magnesium Glycinate. I prepared Pine Needle tea and fruit or vegetable smoothies for him daily. I made sure his diet was filled with vegetables, protein, lots of fruit and ZERO sugar aside from the fruit. Added to this list was lots of love, prayer and nurturing. He took his last Pred 4 months ago and thank God he is doing fine. We still follow the same diet and rotate the supplements as needed. In April, he will join a regular gym. I hope that his journey gives you hope. Thank you all again for your support.

Hugs,

Popsca
