RLS
I have suffered with RLS for about 10 years now, and I take
pramipexole
0.088mg (mirapexin) usually about 6 per day as it can sometimes start really early on about 2pm...but as I get older (59) it seems to be getting worse, I am currently waiting for and app. at the sleep clinic at Walton neuro clinic

I have found that going Dairy Free helps my RLS meds work effectively
For about 5 years I got relief by taking a hot bath, then I discovered
Pramipexole
but after increasing to maximum dose after 10 years, I had side effects and they stopped working.

I have been taking the maximum dose of Pramipexole for the past 6years, and am due to have a Bypass Heart operation shortly.
Obviously the doctors will be aware of the medications I am taking, but I wondered if anyone has had personal experience of an identical situation? Should I try to stick to my dosage as closely as possible? On the other hand does anyone think there is a remote hope that with all the trauma to the system

Could this be augmentation?
This is not good as, for the last few years, my RLS has been controlled by 5 x 0.088mg
pramipexole
taken mid-evening. Rarely am I awoken before I should be. Could this be early signs of augmentation? Am I worrying needlessly?

I have been on maximum dose pramipexole for over 5 years and it has been a life saver
However , recently and on several occasions it has not worked . I just wondered if I was becoming immune to it and whether I needed a change in medication ??

Success !!
She still takes the low dose of
Pramipexole
and many other tabs for her other aliments. Just shows how bad those anti-d's can be I would recommend anyone on them to try to get off them.

Hi, I suffer from RLS each night and I am due to go into hospital for a knee joint replacement. Any advice would be welcome
Having suffered with RLS for many years on a nightly basis I take
Pramipexole
and Co Codamol and have my own routine for trying to get some quality sleep. I am very concerned that immediately post operation with my leg immobilised, how will I be able to cope when my RLS kicks in?

Has any research been done into possible links with any type of bladder issue?
I have been taking
pramipexole
for years, and it usually keeps things bearable, but not always. I have a few other problems, which I know are commonly connected......... 1. Part-syndrome narcolepsy (I can stop myself falling asleep, but it requires a certain amount of effort).

RLS. Legs driving me crazy tonight
Have recently changed my medication for RLS from
Pramipexole
to Gabapentin as I felt that it was the
Pramipexole
that was not mixing well with my Methotrexate and making the nausea worse.

I take at least 2mg of
Pramipexole
every evening. Used to take 900mg of neurotin with 1mg of mirapex. Been to so many doctors with no results. Had surgery for double vision and I still have it. Doctors have no explination as to why. Lost my job from double vision and am now on disability.

I've been taking Pramipexole prolonged release for about four years now.
It works quite well, but it makes me sleepy. That doesn't matter because I don't drive anymore, and I'm retired. In fact it's a good thing, it saves me lots of money. I like to buy things on Ebay, but sometimes when I'm about to bid, I fall asleep and wake to find the auction ended! I get mildly annoyed

Time to relief with Pramipexole
I'm prescribed 2 x 0.18 mg
Pramipexole
a day. I take the first during the evening and the second during the night. I've found that I don't get any relief until two hours after taking the first dose. It used to take up to one hour for relief but the time has increased during the last year.

Pramipexole - to take it or not?
On the one hand it seems like monster medication with its threat of compulsive behaviour (food? amongest) and other side effects.. On the other hand am I being fool hardy in delaying taking it and making things worse?. Its like being between a rock and a hard place. I was diagnosed last year. I know
