Hi, I know some of you are taking Gabapentin but are any of you taking Pregabalin. I have just read that it is better than Gagapentin and mor effective than pramipexole as you don't get argumentation with it.
Anybody taking Pregabalin?: Hi, I know... - Restless Legs Syn...
Anybody taking Pregabalin?
People take prega and gaba for arthritis symptoms. As both carry side effects and we are all different, some people do not get on with prega and others swear by them. I have heard that quite a few favour prega to gaba. I belong to an arthritis forum so these two drugs are often chatted about on there.
Sorry not to be able to give you a straight forward reply but there probably is not one as what suits one person unfortunately may not suit another.

I cant say i have heard of anyone that has tried pregabalin (lyrica) for RLS and had results.
But you never know with RLS, maybe it does work.
I do know many people who take Gabapentin and have good results for relief for their RLS.
I tried gaba, but it didnt help mine and it made me sleepy all day, and i put weight on.

irene hi, taking pregabalin for 3 monhs, started on 50mg twice a day, now take 200mg morning and night, would appear to calm my legs but it does make me tired, plus i do got neuro pain in my legs[pins-and-needles, burning, etc]. weight gain not an issue
It depends on the person. No, it does not cause augmentation. Dopamine agonists are the culprits there. pregabalin, or Lyrica (brand name in USA) is approved only for Fibromyalgia pain. I know some doctors prescribe it because they think it might work. my personal experience was nightmare, had worse RLS, because I had no meds to stop it when I was on Lyrica for Fibro. it generally, over my experience, is NOT the drug for rLS, but you can try it. When my neurologist gave it to me for Fobro pain, he said "maybe we will get lucky and it will help your RLS". In other words he was just hoping it would work. thee are very few, if any studies on pregabalin and RLS. Trial and error. All you can do is try. In my opinion, Lyrica can have worse kinds of side effects, instead of augmentation. if one is even planning on getting pregnant, Lyrica/prgabalin is NOT for you. It is strongly linked to miscarriages in the US. that is what I know.
Hi all, many thanks for your replies. I am still taking my Mirapexin, also the Prega for another condition but at the moment neither have improved. Still have argumention in the early evening and had a real bad night with my two arms going completely mad two nights ago, that started in the middle of the night without any warning, why did that happen!!

I've just been given Lyrica recently. Neurologist said to try it, double the dose if it doesnt work and if this still doesnt work then we'll try something else.
To be honest, the double dose does give slight relief (not enough) but then you have to offset that with the diarrhea and the dry itchy nose. Time to take some of the comments from experts on here back to the Doc and see what he says.
..i HAVE JUST SWITCHED TO LYRICA FROM ROPINEROLE.....THIS IS A NEW DRUG TO ME AND SO FAR SO GOOD BUT STILL TRYING TO GET UP TO THE DOSE OF 300.......MEANWHILE JUST SOOOO RELIEVED TO COME OFF ROPINEROLE..THO TO BE FAIR IT WAS FABULOUS FOR THREE MONTHS AND GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK.....BUT GRADUALLY THE SIDE EFFECTS OVER TOOK ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i WISH YOU LUCK..
