I don't know about the effect of booze with clonazepam (SO BE CAREFUL!) but I used to take 0.088mg of pramipexole. My experience was that booze made them work less effectively. So it's your choice: have a few jars and a good night out but be up all night with kicking legs or take it easy, have a chat and a dance and sleep well. Read the instruction leaflets that come with the drugs and check on the internet (RLShelp is great). Hey, remember, it's your body; treat it like a temple. Er..um..but shouldn't we be allowed to paaarrtty?!

A glass of wine is usually ok, but it depends on how your body reacts. Alcohol can calm things down at first, but it will come back to bite yo in the butt later. RLS does not like alcohol to begin with, and I would never drink with Clonazepam. But, I don;t drink anyway, sooooo I would skip the Clonzepam for a glass of champagne if you must have a drink. Congrats on the wedding, by the way!! :o) Alcohol will block dopamine, and that is why RLS usually does not react well with it.

Also avoid coke I find this is awful for my legs, Jack and coke a thing of the past. I went to a party last night which I was dreading. Had a vodka and tonic and then 3 tonic waters and my legs were fine all night, not heard off before. Usually going out is impossible and by 9pm I am wanting home. Going to try tonic again, I know we have discussed this so was it the tonic or the dancing and company??????????????????

The tonic water was the answer, I have been saying that tonic water really helps my RLS. I also find that dancing ect also helps.

Hi! Thank you all so very much. Interestingly I avoid going out late and avoid drinking (definitely no cokes and only one cup of tea in the morning kind of girl now) even though I'm still young. However I wish I'd seen the vodka and tonic reply (just seen that now) as interestingly I drank... Vodka tonic all evening! And danced a lot... And had a lovely time... And then took my tiny pramipexole at about 1am and then a little cocodamol at around 5am and slept ok. No bad symptoms and an average (probably usual for alcohol) sleep. Not a bad result at all thank goodness. Is there some evidence about tonic? Or maybe just bein happy helps as evening I'm often stressed out with RLS... Wish I knew the answers. But thanks so much for your support it was the first night out and first drink in a long long time x

Yes yes yes, tonic water does help, but people on here don't seem to agree. Try it for yourselves and see. I find that drinking about 1 litre of tonic a few houres before bed works the best

Sounds like you had a wonderful time at the wedding! You overcame your fear of taking a drink and staying up late!!----Myself, I have not had any alcohol in years, mainly because it always set off the RLS. Maybe it's the Vodca/tonic that makes it OK. I'm too scared to try it but would love to hear about someone

else taking the odd glass of wine.----I also stopped socializing some years ago out of fear for the evening's lengths of sitting etc..I still see myself having to get up in the middle of a dinner party because the legs went crazy. Felt sooo embarrassed. Now that I'm older (73) it doesn't matter so much. I'm usually in bed by 8pm after taking a pramipexole and 2 gabapentine. It's a lonely life, mind you! I would still love to sit and chat the evening away but the 'drugs' make me too drowsy.
