Pramipexole

I just want to make sure I am reading the procedure for going off pramipexole and onto pregablin correctly. I started taking pregablin along with my pramipexole and will do this for about 4 weeks. At that point I will start reducing the pramipexole while still taking pregablin.

I talked to the Pdoc whose been handling my pramipexole taper and he said that my withdrawal symptoms to methadone were idiosyncratic and due to my kindled central nervous system. Now there is no way for me to get off pramipexole since the micro taper failed a few months back.

I had reduced prami very slowly from 5 x.088 down to two at night. After hols I decided to go cold turkey and stop. I take 2 tramadol x 50mg at 7oc. Quit alcahol as twas a trigger. I stay up as long as I can and about an hr before bedtime take 1mg Noctamid n sleep right thru. I don't want to become dependent

When I last saw my neurologist she said go back to .5 gm Pramipexole and take 100 gm of gabapentin. That made no difference except I felt drowsy during the day and I needed to go back to .625 of Pramipexole. She said just stay on the Pramipexole. We might consider opioids next.

I have been on Pramipexole 0.125 for almost 7 yrs. Lately one pill hasn’t been working. What else is there. I am 44 yr old female, stroke survivor. I’m on sertraline, pantoprazole, Eliquis, Roustatin and pramipexole. Any advice would help. RLS is the worse.

She had spocken to the neurologist who said for me to try pramipexole 0.088mg to take 1 tablet 2 hours before bed. I have not taken any yet. Wanted to see if I could do it without taking tablet..but it's not looking like I will be able to. Do I move on to the pramipexole?

I have been on pramipexole 0.18 mg for about 8 years same dose, never changed. Obviously I've read about all the horrors of augmentation on here but I haven't experienced any issues to date, it's working for me the same as it's always done.

I think I want to switch back to pramipexole and then start decreasing the doses very slowly. I am on 3mg Neupro patches. Can I switch over immediately to taking to pramipexole? I was previously taking 3x 0.088mg tablets each night. Thanks!

Next week I’m going to go on methadone in order to get off pramipexole. One of the side effects of pramipexole (I’m taking a higher dose than 0.5 because the withdrawal symptoms required me to increase the dose to diminish the withdrawal symptoms) is “sleep disturbance”.

At last, I am off pramipexole, I was on 5 x 0.088 mg tabs a day. It took a long time but I have been pramipexole-free for two weeks. I am still on oxycodone 20mg twice a day.

I am back on Pramipexole and during my years on it have suffered from overeating and excessive spending. My restless legs are so bad that sometimes even on pramipexole the pain breaks through. At times so bad that I can go 4 days and nights without sleep.

I went to see my doctor and he prescribed me pramipexole 0.088mg. I should mention that also had a blood test done and doctor said that it looked all normal and ferritin levels were where they need to be. pramipexole helped me immediately and I feel like I have my life back.

how come iron improves RLS as I have haemachromatosis (too much iron) and have to take four tablets of pramipexole per day for my RLS?

Eventually I will resume my pramipexole taper. Do you think 5 mg of methadone is high enough to stop the withdrawal syndrome (DAWS)?

I’m currently on 0.54mg of Pramipexole supplemented by 30mg Codeine each day. It has been suggested that I should switch to Clonazepam. Any views on this possible switch and how the conversion should be managed.

Just to summarise my story as I have been in touch before. Was on 6 x .008 prami and increasing if my GP had her way. Thanks to this forum I gradually(since May) reduced prami to 2 a night with the help of tramadol. After my hols 4 weeks ago I decided to go cold turkey and quit prami. I had a script

Am I correct in assuming that methadone will not only help me get off pramipexole but also treat the restless leg syndrome which I am now treating with Horizant? Will I therefore be able to get off both pramipexole and Horizant and stay on just methadone for the rest of my life?

I am currently still taking mirapex (pramipexole) but am planning on weaning off soon from the overwhelming advice on this forum. Here is my question, pramipexole is a dopamine agonist and my doctor has prescribed wellbutrin which is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor.

well have now been off pramipexole cometely since June 1st this year. I am shocked at the subtle impacts it has had on me. A brain fog I did not realise had descended on me and stayed for years while on pramipexole.
