Recently diagnosed with Hyper Thyroid. Where to go?
My NHS endocrinologist seems far too busy, so I am looking for private treatment. Also, I infer from the leaflet that he's sent that his standard recommendation is Radioactive Iodine ablation which does not fill me with confidence. Can anyone recommend a good consultant to approach. I live in West

osteoporosis pain medication
Hi. I am suffering terribly with back pain recently and I don’t get on well with pain meds however even I know I can’t function like this it’s agony. The gp offered me codeine morphine etc but I can’t touch those or ibuprofen style medicine so I was wondering if anyone has been prescribed alternatives

Blood tests for chronic fatigue, hair loss, brain fog
Recently I went to get blood work done after experiencing some lethargy, lack of focus and brain fog. Pretty much everything came back within the normal range except for my LDL and total cholesterol which were slightly elevated but nothing too out of whack (LDL 125, HDL 50, total 207) . My doc said I

Diazepam/Valium
I was subscribed Valium in the late 1970s & it worked in that it cured my social anxiety & I could live a normal life. I got married, had children & bought a house. Everything was fine apart from the fact I was addicted for over 40 years but as long as I had the tablets, I was happy & content. I managed

Awaiting a diagnosis, would love to connect with others, as feeling so low
I'm mid 40s and for the past 6-9 months I've been having bowel/abdo issues - including constipation and then urgency. I also have constant abdo pain, predominately in my left hand side that gets much just before and during my period. This month I feel like I'm in some kind of flare as the pain is not

Question about pregnancy and having children with hypothyroidism after RAI for Graves disease
Hi everyone. I'm really grateful for this forum and appreciate all the generous advice and support. I want ask if there is any female who had RAI at a younger age and went on to have children afterward. I'm curious because I have marriage and children in my future plans and it would be nice to hear

The other side of surgery and covid!
hi. Had a mastectomy 2 weeks ago today and tested positive for Covid 12 days ago! Covid tests negative but symptoms persist! Surgery went ok - fatigue the key issue. Time should sort that out 🤞 Restless legs mostly ok - taking half a Pramipexole tablet each day! I got half way through weaning myself

Little blue pills and linctus
The helpful palliative care consultant at Harefield has prescribed for me Oxycodone tablets and codeine linctus. These are to try and manage the worst of my symptoms, coughing and breathlessness. So far they are helping. Though I'm having to go to bed early I've been very busy. Last week I had yoga

Best blood values
Already learned a lot in this forum and from other sources about optimal blood values for Vit D and B12. Just wonder if similar recommendations exist for zinc, selenium, iodine, iron and omega 3 and 6? I’m on WFPBD, take some supplements and check my blood values every three months, some more expensive

I am a healthy 70 year old female from USA, who had surgery in 8/2021for total thyroidectomy for papillary cancer. I went from 50 to 100 mg of Synthroid after surgery & no RAI was needed. My current test results are as follows: TSH : .49 mcIU/mL Range : .45-5.33 mcIU/mL T4 Free: 1.06 ng/mL Range:

stroke at age 39 then ET diagnosis Jak2+
7 months post major stroke. I currently take HU 1g daily for 5 days then 500mg for 2 days. Also clopidogrel atorvastatin gabapentin codeine and paracetamol. I have left side paralysis and I’m learning to walk and move my arm again. I’d be interested to hear if anybody else is in the same situation
