Gabapentin and pain meds which one to go for?
I'm taking gabapentin 900 all day for periodic limb movement disorder however I have a very painful arthritic shoulder and torn rotator cuff. The Dr has tried me on codeine but it made me very ill. Does anyone know what pain medication can be taken with gabapentin (I've tried paracetamol, co-codamol,

IBS-D non medicated on medicine
I’m experiencing a strange occurrence when I’m medicated also when I’m not medicated. If I take co-codamol my symptoms stops. If I don’t codeine I’ll get severe diarrhea with insomnia and with chronic rectal burning. Unfortunately, my healthcare provider have decide to take me off this medication

To Thyroidectomy or Not to Thyroidectomy
Hi there! Hoping for some guidance, advice and possibly real life results from some members. I was diagnosed with Graves' Disease this time last year. I had every possible symptom you can imagine. I started on Methimazole almost immediately. My numbers have gotten better but are still not controlled.

Amiriodone & NDT update
So I was put on Amiodarone post heart surgery 3 1/2 weeks ago. I thought it was a three week course but it's not. Now on 200mg per day for the next few months . And yes I think it's messing my thyroid hormones up. I did protest over taking it...due to its high iodine content and contrary indications.

Dr Alan Christianson - Iodine Controlled Diet
Hi, Does anyone follow Dr Alan Christianson on social media or read any of his material? I find his video's very very informative and enjoy his content. He seems to be a very big supporter of an iodine controlled diet, and thyroid disease can be controlled by regulating iodine intake as appose to thyroid

Pregabalin
Can one add gabapentin to pregabalin or is it better to stick to one. Also what is the highest dose of pregabalin. Is it 600mgs or is that too much. I'm now on 3000 mgs gabapentin and I'm still waking up with my leg. I'm going to change to pregabalin to see if it helps. If it doesn't help I will lessen

I have stage 4 Endo which has caused irreversible damage to my insides (largely due to it taking 15 years to diagnose) I’ve had to really battle and even get my MP involved to be allowed some stronger pain relief for flare ups. I have tramadol (for mild flares) and codeine and naproxen for daily pain

Airedalelady
I am about to start a course of hydrolyzed marine collagen to help my loss of hair. It is by British Supplements, and the ingredients just list Pangasius Fish. Is this okay to take with Levothyroxine? Someone has told me this would probably contain Iodine, which would not work with thyroid meds. Could

insomnia
I have been off pramipexole for 2 weeks now but insomnia is terrible. I was prescribed lorazepam to help me sleep. It made my restless leg worse. So many meds aggravate it. Has codeine helped anyone. Tramadol helped me relax, but never a good sleep. Running out of things to try. And getting desperate

Ablation feedback from yesterday
Hi allI finally went through with it! Firstly, I couldn't have the usual pain relief as I am sensitive to codeine, tramadol and morphine! Anti sickness gave me an anaphylactic shock when I was 17 so they trod carefully with that one! Not sure what I had but told I had received a fair bit of sedation,

parathyroid
Today tcpace raised a good point about the parathyroid and if surgeons aim to preserve them. This is something I’ve wondered about with relation to RAI, as I can’t imagine anything in its wake would survive. Any thoughts/knowledge?

I'd like peoples experiences of gabapentin please
5 spinal fractures, a cyst on the lower spine and blood cancer. Hospital asked my GP to discuss stronger pain relief. He changed my pain patches to fentanyl 12 And also sent gabapentin 100 there was no patient information leaflet in the gabapentin, just a label on the box saying to take 1 the first day

Gastro oesophageal reflux
I’ve had RLS for decades, and have been taking codeine 30mg for a few years which I think helps - not sure if it’s just a placebo effect. However, I also have reflux for which I was taking Omeprazole 10mg on which I was symptom-free. Several months ago I discovered that Omeprazole worsens RLS, so I stopped

Gabapentin
I've suffered with rls for over 30 years which has gradually got worse and worse. I'm now 74. After taking dopamine agonists for years, then tramadol, codeine and trying Kratom nothing was working and my doctor and neurologist would and could not prescribe anything else. In the past I had tried Pregabalin

Horrific mornings
Just a rant really in case anyone has similar experience. Every morning, without fail, is a nightmare. Regardless of the previous day and how I feel when I go to bed I wake with pain from nasty to severe to excruciating and need to expel the alien before I can think off getting out, by which time however

Vasospastic angina pain relief
Hi folks, Just wondering if anyone has been prescribed decent pain relief to take at home instead of having to call an ambulance? I’ve been admitted 5 times in the last 14 months with severe pain due to VSA which the GTN didn’t touch. Mine can last almost all day and go on for several days at a time
