What do results mean
Had my results for thyroid, the only ones out of range was anti thyroglobulin at 733 and low iodine 75% and spot iodine 89.45 although all other test were within normal findings the optimal findings were slightly above on TSH and low on T3 but would probably be considered normal, Practitioner suggested

Levothyroxine side affects
I have for the last 4-6 months really struggled with joint pain to the extent that I was in tears. I’ve just read that one of the rare side effects of Levo is: limp or walk favoring one leg pain in the hip or knee I have both, been drs numerous times had bloods for RA, bone

Prostatitis and pain HELP??
Hi, I'm 25 and was diagnosed with prostatitis last year following about 4-5 years of issues with inflammation, pains and swelling in my prostrate area and perineum. They haven't categorised the type of prostatitis I have but I've been having awful flare ups for which they have been giving me 4-6 weekly

does Swanson Thyroid Glandular contain iodine?
I have recently tried some, just less than half a cap, and feel great especially my mood! I went on a cleaning binge yesterday. However felt the same last year when I tried some iodine. Felt great for weeks but then suddenly gained 5 lbs. Stopped iodine, weight came off. so concerned this mood

Thyroidectomy or RAI - pros and cons
Hello, my husband (39 years old) has been diagnosed with Graves’ disease in January 2018. His results are now very good and the antibodies have dropped significantly, in fact they are very low. He is on 12.5mg of PTU every other day. His endo however thinks that he can relapse very quickly (like within

'Brief radiation spike' after rocket engine blast in northern Russia
With the history of Chernobyl so recently revisited, anything even slightly related is going to hit the headlines. But the reason I am posting is not about the incident itself, certainly not intending to cause concerns or worry. (I think the wind is blowing it in the oppostite direction.) No, it is

Unsuccessful pain management
Hi everyone, Last night I ended up being taken into my local A + E by ambulance after ringing 111. I’m on the second day of my cycle and have been having my usual symptoms; sickness, headaches, fainting, diarrhoea and feeling extremely fatigued. The pain this month is the worst it’s been, it just seems

Spinal degeneration
Hullo. Admin have suggested I post here. I have RA, thankfully under control. Have been able, via my super Rheumatology Consultant, to establish that all my pain is coming from lower back, where the nerves are being crushed resulting in intense leg pain - which is already in the pipeline for investigation

Thyrostim, iodine, t-convert levothyroxine and elevated TSH level
I would be interested to hear from anyone, particularly those who have taken thyrostim, iodine, t-convert along with their daily dose of levothyroxine. (Didn't take the meds together. Thyroxine etc morning. Levothyroxine bedtime. I have been taking the medication since last October 2018. I consulted

10 month wait on NHS...should I go private?
Hi everyone, I finally managed to meet with a gynaecologist last month after a four month wait on an 'urgent' referral. He said I needed a lap and it would be about 6 months wait, but he'd put me on the cancellation list. I phoned his secretary today, and she said his waiting list is 10 months! Apparently

Hello, I have written a few posts previously and I am looking for any advice you wise people can offer! I have a overactive toxic nodule on thyroid, due to having small children I have now been offered surgery rather than RAI. I have asked my consultant about Radiofrequency ablation instead and whether

Pain after sigmoidoscopy
Hi all, I had a sigmoidoscopy on Thursday which confirmed I will need a bowel resection. The test itself wasn’t that uncomfortable though he took a few biopsies, ever since I’ve been getting the most intense sharp pain near my left hip which only codeine will touch. Has anyone had any bad symptoms after
