Am I in the right place?

Hi everyone. Nice to meet you all. I don't know if I'm even in the right area here. Apologies if not.

I have just been through having pre cancerous cells myself from my cervix, various ultrasounds and tests for my dad's liver to see if he had cancer and now my mums been having constant excruciating headaches, ear pain and hearing loss. She went to the GP a couple of weeks ago and he gave her antibiotics suspecting a ear infection, well the antibiotics didn't work and she went back 2 days ago, they have looked again in her ear and he said he could see some sort of bulge. He doesn't know what it is so he has referred her to a head and neck specialist team & a leaflet on about the pathway to cancer leaflet. Needles to say her my dad and me are pretty concerned. The GP has given her codeine for pain relief for now but the headache is there constantly. Please can anyone shed some light on this? I really can't deal with much more myself. Thanks for listening I really appreciate it.

Bless you all.

This is a support group for people who have been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, and conditions very similar. These are cancers of the blood and bone marrow, not the head, neck, or ear. Please check out the "Pinned Posts" section about navigating Health Unlocked, so if you are not in the right place, you may be able to find it faster and easier. Most every group will have some Pinned Posts, and the various Moderators of each support group will have basic helpful information in the Pinned Posts. So perhaps start there.

I do not know what a "pathway to cancer" leaflet is, or why you think this forum can help. If she has been referred to a Head and Neck specialist, it does not sound to me like the doctors are investigating a blood cancer, those are seen by different people. I hope this helps, good luck figuring everything. I hope everyone's medical problems settle down soon, it sounds like you have quite a lot to deal with right now.

Please check the following list of Healthunlocked sites to help you find the appropriate site that can get you to people who can support you in this most uneasy time of exploration to find the source of your Mum's problem
