Edoxaban and dreams and nightmares
Hi all, Hope you all have a great Easter ... plenty of chocolate and bunnies ..... or even warm, sunny, dry weather ! Have any of you who take Edoxaban experienced the worst most sleep destroying nightmares of a violent topic ? Or even any nondescript dreams or nightmares. I did put a post on here

Mechanical valve
Thanks for your replies! You are correct, I think I got my terminology wrong, sorry. I will have a mechanical valve not a biological valve, thus the need for warfarin. I was also hoping to use the self testing kit for warfarin, as we spend much time in Africa, which could be rather tricky. Good to

Recent Radical Surgery
Hi All, diagnosed after biopsy in December 2023 with 2 hits, one was a Gleason 4+3 and one was a Gleason 4+4. Just had the Radical Davinci Robotic Prostatectomy in March and my pathology seemed all good. Pre surgery PSMA scan and MRI contrast both showed all gland contained 5 lymph nodes were taken

Sometimes I think no one else gets it :( I was lucky to get surgery on Wednesday. This is my third surgery but I really was so so poorly afterwards. I’m feeling lonely, tired, emotional and in pain. I hate people worrying about me so I’ve kept it quiet ish, hardly anyone knows and now I feel useless

Synthetic mytral valve
Hello, Soon I will have mytral valve replacement. I'm 56 female and lead a very active life. My concern is not so much getting back to fitness after surgery but more how much warfarin really affects day to day life. Also I was wondering, are there still no other alternatives to taking warfarin when

Colds and epilepsy
My husband has passed on his cold to me. I started with a tickly cough, now nose is bunged up, coughing is rattly, more so on the right side and head feels dizzy constantly. Ears also feel blocked. Im worried incase it triggers a seizure, as epilepsy nurse told me that viruses can trigger seizures. In

Workplace Accommodations
Hi all - my endo has caused me a few abscesses from work since my surgery. I’m lucky that my work are so understanding with it and they want to help me manage as best I can. I am due to have a meeting next week to see how they can help and what if any accommodations they can put in place for me. I

Do Drs get a bonus for prescribing certain drugs ?
Does anybody know if Gps get a hand out for prescribing statins ? There has been a lot of controversy in regard to this topic. Late yesterday afternoon I had a call from my surgery. It was a Dr I had never heard of or had I spoken to her before. She was suggesting I were put on statins! I asked for

Anticoagulants
Just a quick question , I just realised my surgery is closed today (silly me) and I can’t pick up my latest prescription until Tuesday . I will run out of my anticoagulant Edoxaban tonight so I won’t be able to take any for the next 3 days . I haven’t had an AF episode for the last 4 months and they

Journey of pain, cyst and Endometriosis
My story is rather a sad one. All my life, I've been experiencing one tummy issue to the other. In adolescence, i do have painful period but thats it. Though i sometimes do have some dull pain at the pelvic region when i sit on a floor for some time. Fast forward to adulthood exactly in 2020, i had

Dr Cameron Martin Edinburgh Spire - anyone had surgery with Dr Martin?
Hi I’m looking into seeing Dr Cameron Martin at Edinburgh spire for my first laparoscopy and wondered if anyone has any reviews they can share with me to help me make my decision. He seems nice from our initial chat via email but I need to make the right decision as surgery is a big deal for me. Thanks

worried in France
Good evening everyone. wishing everyone a peaceful Easter. I am in need of a little advice from you lovely people. Since last Friday, I have been experiencing irregular heartbeats and combined with occasional AF. At least I presume that’s what it is, very fast beats. I don’t really know how long I should

Depressed & Exhausted
Hi, I'm new to this so please pardon any errors. I had a botched surgery on June 2019, Revision surgery on October 2019 and my 3rd on June 2021. I now have permanent neuropathy and a few other things. Since than, I've been incredibly depressed and always feel alone. I used to xtrain 28 miles per week

Suggestions For Reducing 'Off' Time
I sent this message to my Neurologist from Mayo Clinic who works under Eric Ahlskog who wrote “The New Parkinson’s Disease Treatment Book”. I am looking for any suggestions regarding how I can reduce my ‘off’ times that are becoming more and more severe. I’m trying to hold off on the DBS surgery and
