should I seek a third opinion about endo/adeno diagnosis?
I’m just looking for some advice about where I’m at in terms of my endometriosis and adenomyosis diagnoses. Thanks in advance if you read the entire thing! I have struggled with symptoms since I was 13: painful, heavy periods, pain during intercourse, pain during ovulation, sciatic pain, bowel issues

Post Ablation complications
Had persistent fast AFib since Nov 23, decided to go private route as my health was deteriorating. Echocardiogram Jan 24 showers severe mitral regurgitation, and ejection fraction 28%. Lots more drugs added to the cocktail and now under the care of both a cardiologist and an Electrophysiologist. Drugs

Does Gleason score still apply after RP
Hi all. I have never been able to get this question answered. My Gleason was 3+3 before having my prostate removed. It was confirmed 3+3 after surgery. One open margin of less than 1mm. No sign of spreading anywhere locally or distant. My psa was in the .02-.03 range bouncing up and down for 8 years

Stage 4 endo really sucks!!!!
Dear fellow warriors, I'm 28 and I'm reaching out today to share my experience with endometriosis and to seek support from those who may have experienced a similar situation. In 2019, I underwent surgery to address stage 4 endometriosis, hoping to find relief from its debilitating symptoms. However

Robotic surgery?
My mitral valve is deteriorating and surgery is in my future. I’m 72, in good health besides aFib and my valve. I’m interested in robotic surgery and if I would qualify. Curious what other folks experience is.

Name Surgeries Who Suppor…?
Can anyone name GP surgeries who actually support B12 deficiency patients who SI and who supply the necessary dosage injection ampoules for their individual need? I have a doctors appointment on Tuesday which will be an ongoing discussion of my EOD need which he knows I SI. If I get the opportunity,

Edoxaban and dreams and nightmares ...... Part 2
Been figuring the best way to write my thanks to you all for your comments on Part 1, so, tryin’ this. Whilst I have been reading your comments I have also been reading ‘The paper in the packet’ for each of the drugs that I originally referred to. It does seem as though each of these three DOAC's side

White cell count and neutrophils low on MTX
Hi, I have a diagnosis of sero neg RA and have been taking mtx for almost 5 years with HCQ added 3 years ago. I've had the occasional repeat blood tests requested at gp surgery for liver results over these years, but its always been a blip and gone back to within range quickly. I had regular monthly

Is anyone taking naltrexone?
Hello, I had surgery six days ago and thought this might be useful for anyone else to know: Right before I went into the operating theatre, the anaesthetist was going over my chart and said to me “Are you taking this?” (naltrexone). I had actually ran out a few days before my surgery, which he said

NHS On The Ball As Ever, Not.
I recently wrote that at the end of February I spent the day in the emergency dept due to shortness of breath, I'd been advised to go there by the GP surgery. Anyway it was decided after lots of tests it was an exacerbation of my asthma, I was treated with a nebuliser, steroids and a stronger inhaler

Lowering eye pressure
Pre trabeculectomy I was on lantoprost for 3 months and it didn’t really lower my eye pressure and for the other eye I was on it for 6 months pre surgery. Tried fixapost and Timolol briefly before surgery and i don’t think it worked. My eye pressures have gone up and the consultant has put me on monopost

Feeling like Chemo is too Hard
Hi. I was diagnosed 3B HG in August 2018, had surgery, frontline, first recurrence ( carbo and caelyx/doxil), 3 years of Olaparib, one year on nothing and now am having carboplatin alone for second recurrence. My oncologist said this would be relatively easy. Also I haven’t had some of the worst complications

How accurate is a visual field test?
Hello I am new to this site but have been a member of Health Unlocked for some time. I have had glaucoma in both eyes for approximately 11 years and was well controlled until about 3.5 years ago when I developed uveitis in my left eye (my worse eye for glaucoma). It was treated as an acute emergency

Bursitis of toes & Steroid Injection
I've had pain from between the second & third toe since last May. It hurts to stand & walk especially barefoot or in shoes. I tend to wear trainers when I can as the base is soft & spongy. I had surgery Oct 22 for severe arthritis in the large toe & at first I feared it had spread. Two trips to GP (

Prednisolone and surgery
Hi everyone, I've been reading all the recent posts about problems reducing prednisolone with interest. When I was diagnosed in September 2023 (non cranial GCA) I naively expected my steroid reducing timetable, given to me on discharge, would be exactly as it was on the sheet. I'm now down to 8mg per
