Journey of pain, cyst and Endometriosis

My story is rather a sad one.

All my life, I've been experiencing one tummy issue to the other.

In adolescence, i do have painful period but thats it. Though i sometimes do have some dull pain at the pelvic region when i sit on a floor for some time.

Fast forward to adulthood exactly in 2020, i had a serious pelvic pain that scared me to death. I thought i would die but it later stopped that day.

Then around august 2021, i started noticing that the tummy pain is becoming severe, i dismissed it as stomach ulcer as i have not been eating well lately. In late September that same year, the tummy pain was so severe that i couldn't stand and i was always vomiting even NSAIDs wasn't of any relief, i was rushed to the hospital and had appendectomy that September.

Though, i got myself but that dull pain that wakes me up at night before the surgery was still there. It comes and goes..

Then comes last year feb 2023, the pain was increasingly persistent and i was bleeding past my period with pains around my pelvic. I did pelvic scan, a large cyst was found and surgery was needed as one seemed to have ruptured and was now seeping through.

I did the surgery and removed the cyst.

However my biggest dilemma was that after the surgery, i got myself but it didn't last.

Two months after the surgery that's was when my biggest concern started.

I now have constant pain which starts two weeks before period. Some times from the ovulation pain it will never really stop till after period.

The pain gets worse at night. It disrupts my sleep, it affects my work. I'm really tired. I'm always depressed lately.

Ive done pelvic scan, no cyst was detected. It's like I'm given a clean slate but I'm dying with pains.

I started doing research on my own and coincidentally,i notice that my symptoms aligns with some of endometriosis symptoms.

I really hope, this illness has a cure, i can't keep living like this. I'm fed up with constant pain.

I forgot to write that last year October, i had similar pain as i had before the cyst was diagnosed. Excruciating pelvic pain that triggered headache, nausea and vomiting. Pentazocine had mild effect on the pain. Even after given penta, the pain didn't stop. I felt it for days before it stopped

Hi,That sounds like me. I was diagnosed with endometriosis two years ago. Got a surgery to remove scar tissues on my ovary, uterus ans bowel. According to the surgeon that should have been enough to stop the pain but after two months it was back. The only way to stop it was the birth control pill. So I'll say get your gynaecologist prescribe it to you. There are some known to work especially for endometriosis. But all of them can have some sort of side effect. So if after 3 months you stil have side effects try another one. For me the firt pill gave me nausea all day everyday. The second one gave me hot flares at night. Now I'm trying a third one because after 3 months without pill I'm back in pain all the time.

Good thing, you should be way better with the pill

Bad thing, you won't be able to live without it.

I hope you find a good solution for yourself. Good luck ❤️
