New here but not new to Prostate cancer. I'm writing for my dad that was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in October 2010 via digital exam when PSA was only 2.8. Had robotic surgery Feb. 2011 - post Gleason Score 7 (4+3) minor component pattern 5, margins clean and no Seminal Vesicle involvement, nerve bundles spared. PT3a NO MX. PSA 50 days post 0.10.

In Aug. 2012 had 39 radiation treatments. PSA before - 4.0 PSA after - 0.3

He has been able to control with Avodart, Casodex and Metformin.

06/27/18 started Lupron when PSA was 1.1

10/16/19 started Xtandi PSA 9.3

6/16/21 Pet CT PSMA mets to liver. NeuroEndicrine Prostate cancer Rad51B mutation as per genomics

7/7/21 PSA 38.9

8/16/21 started Chemo Carboplatin/Etoposide 2 rounds then Pet/CT scan showed no improvement but actually more mets with increase in size.

9/27/21 stopped current chemo and now going to start Olaparib

My father's doctor said that he has never had a patient with this mutation. We are just looking for others with RAD51B to see how their treatments are going. We are headed to Dana Faber to see Dr. Beltran as soon as we can get in. Thank you for reading this far and appreciate any insights you might have.

Hi Dadslove, I have been suffering from prostate cancer since 2002. My situation is now stable, the PSA level is all the time below zero. My range of drugs also includes metformin, but also bicalutamide 150mg and atorvastatin 80mg - (clinical trial). I read almost every day about new clinical trials and all the time I hope that new drugs will be able to stop the disease process.Best wishes.
