Hi, I'm new to this site although registered for the CLL site. I'm a 72 yr old male with a history of high blood glucose and on metformin 500mg x2. In May of 2020 I began treatment for CLL which included both infusion (obinutuzumab) and oral (venetoclax) meds. Just after starting the infusions which included dexamethasone &methylprednisolone my daily glucose jumped to the high 400's low 500's. My PCP put me on Tresiba (degludec) insulin. I was on that for ~8 months until i finished with the obinutuzumab infusions and came off the insulin with daily glucose readings in the 140's - 150's. Although I received 3 Pfizer vaccinations I came done with COVID and immediately received the REGEN-COV infusion, since my glucose levels had jumped to the 190's -200's. I'm scheduled to go off the venetoclax early Oct. I'm hoping after finishing up with the venetoclax (half-life 2 days) and getting clear of the obinutuzumab (half-life 30 days) and the REGEN-COV (half-life 30 days) my glucose levels will drop.

Anybody with similar experience?

Hey there, CLL is Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, it's actually a disease of the immune system. With both the disease itself and the treatment I'm on it has left me with minimal immunity. The good news is I'm nearing the end of my treatments, the bad new is the treatments have messed with my blood glucose levels. I have a follow-up early November with my PCP to assess my A1C which I'm sure he'll want to re-prescribe insulin.
