Pseudomonas aeruginosa to lungs, will I need time off work to recover?
Hi Folks, I’ve been coughing hard for two months and had multiple antibiotics, steroids antihistamines, even asthma inhalers. No improvement. Last week I had bloods, Xray for pneumonia and sputum test. The sputum test was a very firm white decent chunk of something. (Sorry). Doctor rang me late yesterday

We should treat COVID like norovirus – not the flu
Because COVID symptoms – fever, cough, aches – are similar to flu symptoms, it is tempting to compare the two. Fascia Release
I’ve just been diagnosed with Fibro after all sorts of widespread pain, operations, PTSD and now menopause to add to the mix. I’ve recently started to research and practise fascia release firstly through a Pilates teacher and supplemented by guidance and videos on the web. I’m finding it’s really helping

Asthma and Storms
Does anyone else's asthma get worse when there's a storm? I know obviously being out in bad weather/the cold can affect it but every time a storm comes over even when I'm inside I get tight chested and my cough gets worse. I take my reliever but it doesn't help. Any advice or even just reassurance I'm

I have suffered from RLS for more than 60 years and it has gotten steadily worse with age. (I am now 84.) Inside the lungs, a new hope for protection against flu damage
New experimental data pinpoints a molecular component responsible for modulating the damage the flu can wreck on the lungs. The molecule, known as DAF, increases disease severity in mice upon infection with Influenza A virus, the most prevalent cause of the seasonal flu. Understanding this novel virulence

Bring on week 8!
Week 7 is in the bag despite having yet another cough/cold from the boys I nanny for. They do like to share!! Found it hard going in places but also realised I kept speeding up. Looking forward to my penultimate week.

More advice please prior to GP consultation
Hi experts. I upped my pred dose to 20 mg 2 weeks ago believing I had PMR flare after dropping to 15 for 2 weeks. But with your knowledge and experience you suggested Piriformis syndrome - am still struggling with the PS pains but am fortunately having some sports therapy massage and stretching and exercising

Do any of you suffer from muscle twitching / shakes
Hello, I've suffered from what I suspect is chronic bronchitis for about 9 years now. I first started showing symptoms when I was only 22, and now, at 31, things are getting considerably worse. I have to take regular medication, and use a device to help clear mucus off my chest. I first started noticing

Neck pain
A couple of months ago I had a cough and cold. The cough went onto my chest and then it caused my thyroid to become inflamed and very painful. My neck was painful and difficult to move and my thyroid very painful to the touch. I was prescribed penicillin and within 2 days the pain subsided and everything

S. pneumoniae sticks to dying lung cells, worsening secondary infection following flu
A bout with flu virus can be hard, but when Streptococcus pneumonia enters the mix, it can turn deadly. Now researchers have found a further reason for the severity of this dual infection by identifying a new virulence mechanism for a surface protein on the pneumonia-causing bacteria S. pneumoniae.
