I was doing an on-line search about medical advances in ckd, and happened upon this article: https://www.duke-nus.edu.sg/medicus/2003-issue1/bringing-new-hope-for-kidney-failure-patients There are currently 3 clinical trials going on, regarding Anti IL 11 therapy. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if this

A New Milestone
I would like to share some good news. On Wednesday I had my review with my Oncologist for my annual MRI scan. The result of the scan was that my brain was sound and there was no sign of any disease; we are all delighted with the result. Such a result is a major milestone in my journey as in September

Vitamin D & Calcium Supplements - current advice from Canadian Doctors.
Hello All, I thought this was worth passing on. I recently received the same advice from my family Doctor and CLL Specialist. "Make sure you take a vitamin D supplement at 1000 IU per day, but do NOT take a calcium supplement and try to ensure you get sufficient from your diet, not just diary but

We didn't have any options left. Started clinical trial RO7656594 May 14. Scans were done June 27. Showed progression in bones and liver. We knew it wasn't working around the time the scans were done. Pain was increasing. Difficulty eating. Mobility issues starting July 3. Confusion also starting. Talked

Blood pressure warning
More fun and frolics. Before I went to pamper myself in Montenegro (swimming in the sea, lounging on the Cabana) I checked my blood pressure which I do regularly and noticed a little warning sign like a heart next to my diastolic. The literature said to seek advice so I asked him in doors and he casually

Median PFS for FCR treated CLL patients with IGHV-M was 14.6 years vs 4.2 years for patients with IGHV-UM. V+O and I+R look to be superior
An update of the long-term follow-up results from the original 300-patient FCR (fludarabine, cyclophosphamide, and rituximab) study initiated at MD Anderson in 1999,
Sustained remissions in CLL after frontline FCR treatment with very-long-term follow-up,
reports ~47% of patients with mutated IGHV

I love the ECG function on my Galaxy watch and the blood pressure until I noticed the instruction not to use if on meds etc. I don't understand why it's safe for Afib but not for BP. Can anyone explain please?

Treatment awaited
Hi all I just completed my history incorrectly as a post. I have not posted before as I have been a silent member without any worrying ongoing elevations in PSA for about four years. I have keenly observed the posts of members and learned a good deal from them. This post is the follow up on my history

Hello I am part of clinical trials, and one of the worst side effects is dry eye. I have drops that include OTC and prescribed eye drops for dry eye, but no help. What's the best way to handle dry eye? What worked for you?

high TSH and high T4
hi, I’d be grateful for your thoughts on this one. I’ve recently had two blood tests, one on 11th April with a TSH of 8 (abnormal) but T4 of 22 (so still just normal but top of the range). Then another blood test 28th June also with higher TSH of 11 and T4 high but normal at 21. I’ve had Hashimotos
