I was diagnosed with PAF about 23 years ago, and have managed it with medication, at present on 300mg of Flecainide daily, along with Bisoprolol 2.5mg and Apixaban 10mg, For the last 6 months I've been in AF for weeks and then a couple of day I'm in rhythm. I don't want an ablation. Would I receive

Persistent Atrial Fibrillation
I caught a bad cold (tested negative for COVID) in November 2022 and on the day that started, I went into AFib. I wasn’t given any treatment because I was already on Warfarin due to my aortic valve replacement in March 2015. I finally saw a consultant about the AFib in May 2023 and was put on Isosorbide

Persistent and Permanent Atrial Fibrillation
Approximately one month ago I introduced myself to this forum. I greatly appreciated the warm welcome and the helpful responses I received to my post. I've returned with hopes of receiving some feedback from any members who have persistent or permanent Afib. I believe I've done as much research as

Post ablation holter monitor results
Hi everyone, just had a letter following a 24 hour holter monitor I had on the 10th of August, this was 4 months post PVI ablation. I would be grateful for anyone's opinion as I am a bit of a worrier and the tachycardia bit bothered me. How can your heart go fast for 3 seconds and be recorded. Here is

amiadrone
For those of you with hypothyroidism and heart disease, have any of you been advised to or taken amiadrone and warfarin prior to cardioversion to increase likelihood of staying in sinus rhythm? There are so many contraindications for me personally due to other meds and comorbidities.

can stopping tea and coffee help?
I was diagnosed with AF about 2nonths ago. About two weeks ago I was advised by a friend who used to have AF that if I stopped taking caffeinated drinks it would help me stopping the AF I was experiencing. Well since stopping caffeinated drinks I have been taking ECG’s (albeit on an Apple Watch)

warfarin and chia seeds
Hi I self test my INR. I want to introduce chia seeds as part of my daily diet. I know they can interact with anticoagulants. I take Warfarin. Has anybody had any experience with warfarin and chia. it says on the net it doesnt mean no. But exercise caution. Presumably, it could raise my INR so

Now Dr. Mandrola not only likes, but loves Pulse Field Ablation (PFA).
Dr. John Mandrola previously had reservations about Pulse Field Ablation being a breakthrough in treating afib. Npw that he has personally seen it in action, he has changed his mind. From his Substack 11/22 "Now I have used PFA. And. It is somewhat amazing. It ablates cardiac tissue quickly and

Help finding cardiologist - Bradycardia - West Herts NHS Trust (Will travel for good private Consultant)
Long story short..finally got GP to look at low bp (been low for 20 years but..) I asked for a different GP after being told time and time again 'some people have low heart rate!!). I've know somethings been wrong over past 18months. Electrocardiogram showed 'slow heart' and bp drop lying to to standing

Mental problems
I am unable to live with the constant fear of persistent afib symptoms in particular the palpitations at every waking moment which are virtually 24 hours a day waiting for a cv on Tuesday week and it is only this which keeps me going I have had paf very intermittent apparently for 10 years and went persistent

Statins
Back in 2008, I was diagnosed with AFIB and, after an echo, was also told that I had a bicuspid aortic valve. An ablation in 2018 lasted only 8 months and I was soon back in afib and back on rhythm and rate meds. Fast forward to this past March when I got Covid and my paroxysmal afib turned to persistent

Slow Heart Rate
For the first hour of a recent Afib event, I had a very slow HR with widely spaced beats of one or two each time. My BP was okay. My HR showed up as 40 for about one hour, before going into its usual erratic, quicker patterns. About and hour after that, I went into the ER with extreme dizziness, which

DC Cardioversion - Yes or No
For the last 18 months, my AF seems to have got worse, and I have suffered badly with a shortage of breath. I have had 2 lung function tests and 2 consultations with a Respiratory Consultant who has told me that my lungs are “normal”. I am on a very long list to see an NHS Cardiologist, and therefore

Shout out to my local hospital and in particular ED team. I am posting via hospital bed in recovery. Presented to Caboolture Hospital QLD, Oz today at around midday today. PIP normally suffice to revert but after 2 days(Flec and Metropolol). I was in NSR but wasn't budging from 120 with a low blood pressure

A bit of clarity needed please!
Hi all, apologies before I start for another longer post, but I wonder if I might put my own Afib interpretation across to you folks for your opinions. I find myself with a constant need for clarification to my own individual situation and feel a lot of the general advice is not necessarily relevant

Cost of Eliquis (Apixaban) in the U.S.
I live in the U.S. and I have decided -- the decision can be debated elsewhere -- to take Eliquis, which is available outside the U.S. as a generic called apixaban. My Eliquis costs $314 for 30 pills. I could do a bit better pricewise at another pharmacy 50 miles away, with long, long lines. I pay
