Induced copper deficiency by b12 treatment
Hi, So i had treated an b12-deficiency and experienced the "worse before better" situation. To make a long story short, this actually turned out to be an induced copper deficiency as my body rapidly started producing new red blood cells to correct the macrocytic anemia. This required increased mobilization

Long Covid- are they still missing a link with B12 deficiency ?
("Be Well: A Potential Role for Vitamin B in Covid-19") Martyn Hooper (
Pernicious
Anaemia
Society founder) has made the comparison between symptoms of long covid and PA - and alerted medical experts to this similarity. It does look strikingly familiar, doesn't it ?

Was wondering about anemia?
I just had blood work taken by my rheumatologist, and it shows that I am getting anemic again. This happens every 6 months or so. I had all kinds of tests to see if I have cancer, but it is negative (thank goodness). I have had tests to see if I am losing blood (endoscopy and colonoscopy). Both show

Iron infusions
I have Restless Leg Syndrome, and also low iron (without anemia). However, I'm not able to take iron supplements as they're upsetting to my GI tract. My doctor is recommending an Iron infusion (this is putting iron directly into the bloodstream to avoid the GI tract). I've heard that this works for

Patient Experiences on DTE
This is useful narrative paper on why how and when patients prefer NDT (DTE) over other therapies. It might have been posted before, but the journal is obscure. Downloadable paper: Patient Experiences and Perceptions Associated with the Use of Desiccated Thyroid Extract

Should I have been tested for PA before starting loading doses?
Hi everyone, I'm currently on my loading doses and have a sneaking worry that my treatment/investigatons into PA aren't as efficient as I'd previously thought - I'd appreciate some advice as I sometimes find the clinical information online very complicated/contradicting. Firstly they will only give me

A question about Thyroid blood tests.
Hello Everyone, I am seeing an Endocrinologist in a couple of weeks, I was diagnosed with B12 Deficiency last December and am having treatment. Unfortunately, my MVC are getting larger since treatment and I have been told to check out my thyroid. I have had my T3 free, T4 free and TSH blood tests

B12 and iron deficient
I had pyloric stenosis surgery at 3 months old where they take out some of the deodenum which is the area that absorbs iron and b12. I’ve had to get b12 injections and now am iron deficient. Curious if anyone else had the same surgery as a baby and now have the same vitamin and mineral malabsorption

How to monitor injection results
I was diagnosed with B12 deficiency in May 2021, on the basis of low serum B12 (74 ng/L), some loss of sensation in my feet, and nerve conduction assessment in my legs. Due to physician confusion regarding treatment with B12 (cyanocobalamin) injection, I bounced around with injection frequency, with

5th Covid vaccine
I know this topic has been covered recently but I’m still confused about the 5th Covid vaccine. I’ve just rang 119 and spoken to a guy who has said they are not inviting anyone for a 5th vaccine. They are currently working on people eligible for the spring booster as set out in the NHS guidelines.

Migraine Medication and Blood Pressure Medication
Hello Everyone. I have been having neck pain along with dizziness. I was referred to a neurologist who thinks that I'm suffering from migraines. He gave me ubrelvy Medication to take while in the office and prescription for Ubrelvy 100 mg. It took away the neck pain but it also knocked me out for

Could it be pmr?
I’m on the
pernicious
anaemia
and thyroid sections too and have had lots of great advice but I still have all the same symptoms albeit less dramatic than the initial collapse. I’m so confused about where to go for help.

B12 injections and iron
Had labs done today in preparation for my hematology check up next week. My ferritin has increased slightly, but my iron , TIBC, and sat % have all decreased slightly. Also my MCV increased and my WBC decreased. Most are still in range, but I know ranges aren't always optimal (and my hematologist
