Hi - IBS Newbie here
Hello, My name is Christian and I am 44 years old. I have been diagnosed with IBS today by my GP after ongoing stomach issues for the past 5-6 months. I have previously had blood tests and a sigmoidoscopy, which both came back clear (thankfully). I have basically had very low level stomach ache

Can ablation make symptoms worst?
I have persistent afib for 5 years now. Besides taking Eliquis, I tolerate my symptoms well. I'm scheduled to have an ablation in few days. My question is, anyone out there had the ablation and the symptoms become worst after? I want to get it done because my atria are enlarged and my ejection rate at

My doctors will drive me to... death due to conflicting medications.
Health insurers hate me. I am on about 15-10 medications. At age 53, I had a small heart attack. I was born with a defective heart valve that was replaced 7 years ago (Afib was the sign it needed replacement). I thought the afib was gone. Then, 2 months ago, that valve was again replaced along with

Runner's Tummy :(
Does anyone else get tummy pain after a run? I've had it on and off for 2 weeks now. I thought it was a bug but I've been reading about runners who have tummy problems. Any advice? I normally eat 1small avocado about 30mins before a run and have a cup of tea plus half a pint of water with a fizzy

Low heart rate AFIB
My younger sibling was diagnosed with AFIB and is on Eliquis and Metoprolol. She has frequent episodes, but always converts. Her heart rate never goes above 90 when she is in them. Is this true AFIB? Because of this she never communicates with her EP because it doesn't bother her. Is this damaging

Altitude afffect on AF?
I’m new to this community- I am 66 yrs. old and was diagnosed with AF last Fall. I live at an altitude of about 2,000 ft. I am planning a week long trip to the mountains of 8,000-11,000 ft. Does anyone have experience with such drastic altitude change and should I expect any affects on my AF? If so,

Eliquis & Osteoarthritis pain
I'm on Eliquis for 10 weeks due to pulmonary embolism. Will likely be on it for life. My long time osteoarthritis is making life miserable due to taking away Advil or Aleve. Tylenol does nothing! Can I take MSM? Or anything else??

I am new to the group. I was diagnosed with stage 4 MBC in 8/17 after 10 years of being cancer free following diagnosis of breast cancer Ductal institute stage 0. I have been healthy and they found it in my eye on routine eye exam. I have no mass on mammogram and there are different opinions as to if

I'm new here, I was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and leaky valves as a teenager in 1963. I was also diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation in 2008 after feeling fatigued and having a heart rate around 110. I underwent cardioversion and was prescribed Metoprolol, this kept my heart rate around 55. I

Post ablation anniversary and the best birthday gift
I'd just like to touch base with my AF family. It's now been one year since my ablation (right on my birthday) and difficult two months recovery after that. Shortly, I feel great - still not any medication although I will eventually start Eliquis (again). Keeping my blood pressure and glucose levels

Hair loss
Hi, I am on Tikosyn and Eliquis and am having severe hair loss . I am thinking it is one of those medicines. I have been on them for 5 months now, does anyone else have this problem with either of these meds?

Living with the impact of Eliquis
Hi to all my fellow A-fibbers..... Just found this blog after I googled, is A-fib forever? I had a revision of a 15 year old failed total knee replacement early August of 2017. Four days post-op I had my first A-fib episode completely out of the blue. I am a retired nurse so when I experienced the

How long for dronedorone to work?
I'm new here, have had under-control AF for years with Atenolol, but now it has suddenly stopped working and doc put me on Eliquis and Multaq (dronederone). How long is a reasonable time for dronederone to work on lessening the AF symptoms? I've been on 5 days and my AF has not improved. I appreciate

New at Going to War With Afib
Was OK for years on Atenolol only, but now I’m dealing with daily flutters/lightheadedness. So now I’m a few days into Eliquis 5m and Multaq 400 m. Doc says I’m looking ahead at ablation here in Orlando. I’m retired high school English teacher, and I’m looking forward to participating in the community
