I'm new here, have had under-control AF for years with Atenolol, but now it has suddenly stopped working and doc put me on Eliquis and Multaq (dronederone). How long is a reasonable time for dronederone to work on lessening the AF symptoms? I've been on 5 days and my AF has not improved. I appreciate all you guys on this forum!

How long for dronedorone to work?
Hi dcadwallader and welcome to the forum. I afraid I'm not able to offer any advice on dronederone but felt after 4 hours, it would be polite to at least make you feel welcome!!!!
I'm sure it will not be long before someone with first hand experience of dronederone picks up on your question and offers some helpful advice.....in the meantime, I hope you soon see some benefit ......best wishes, John
Thank you, Flapjack!
Hi dcadwallader and welcome,
I was put on dronedarone last August 5 days before my first ablation, I’m not sure wether it helped or not I lasted for three months in NSR and then went back to persistent AF even whilst being on 400mg twice a day. Sorry it’s not good news from me. Good luck
Sharon
My EP was going to try it for my persistant afib, but said it did not really work well and put me on flecainde, it works very well. I take 50 mg every 12 hours.
