can my GP charge me £30 for a copy of one lab blood result?
I have been diagnosed with possible Lyme disease , and my GP, being concerned, requested blood tests including inflamatory ESR markers, along with TSH, and other tests to determine if this is the case.. I 'phoned to ask if I could come and collect a copy for my records, to be told all is "normal" - which

Pain meds alternative?
Am still trying to get pain meds sorted with GP. Am now taking dihydrocodeine 4x daily (2 tabs each time). Plus amitriptyline at night - just started taking. New tabs seem to help but on highest dosage. Whilst picking up tabs from chemist noticed Tens machines. Has anyone used this? Does it help? I have

Lumber support belt
I've been given a lumber support belt with the instruction not to use it too much. Anyone got experience of these things? When to use them and how ? It give me a tiny waist which is the upside but not much use when you have to put on a baggy jumper to conceal it. Never mind I live in baggy jumpers to

Was it viral meningitis?
My husband and I believe we are suffering the aftermaths of viral meningitis, but we're not sure. A malady struck us after an international flight from the US to Germany in August 2014. Woke up dazed, confused, with pressure in the back of my head. Husband had pressure, discomfort on sides of head

Was in hospital last week to get my medication changed. Also I have another Wheelchair Assessment & PIP Application Form!
Hi everyone, I have finally managed to get my pain under control, as I managed to get an appointment with my Kidney Specialist. When I saw him I explained the issues I was having & also the problems I was having with him GP. So last week I was admitted to Sunderland Royal Hospital, on ward B28, though

I'm pregnant! Happy but in for a difficult time.....advice or others experience would be great.
So after 3 surgeries in 2.5 years, it took just 5 months for me to get pregnant! I am so happy but I know that many of us are not this lucky. I just hope it still provides some hope for others who are trying and that endo doesn't mean infertility. Anyway the reason for my post.....my last surgery

Hi all, I was looking up visual disturbances with migraine & found myself reading some posts. I had migraines as a teenager, but after a 3 month course of homeopathic treatment & avoiding certain food groups, I was migraine free for 20 years. Unfortunately I had 3 car accidents & a nasty fall within

Pudendal nerve block
I did it ! After much deliberation and the off putting comments not to go ahead with it. But, from what I think, it worked. Dr Greenslade did the nerve block in spire hospital in Bristol. He was £300 for the consultation and £95 for the anaesthetic to do the block. He did it via ultrasound. I was pain

Help!!
I have an appointment to get occipital nerve block injections. But I just received 31 Botox injections on Monday, Jan 5th, 2015 from a different neurologist. Should I get the occipital nerve block injections or wait to see if the Botox is going to work? I have about 3-4 migraines per week.

Fibromyalgia? and more tests
Well, saw a fourth GP yesterday. My first GP who'd sent me to the neuro has left, the second was a guy who clearly didn't care and told me all my tests were 'clear' and when I looked at the screen and asked why one was 'flagged' he said 'oh yes, your vitamin D is low', the third just sent me away with
