Lyme Disease and Bartonella: More Common Than You Think
For those that still have symptoms even though ... - Thyroid UK
For those that still have symptoms even though treated, have you thought of this?
I did think of it but I know my gp will never agree to test me for it. I'm dark skinned so I can't show him a bullseye rash which they tend to swear by. This article has convinced me even more now that I need to check for it.
I know it's another one I'll have to do privately but not sure how to go abt that yet.
Unfortunately the recommended lab here is American. I checked on Blue Horizon website and they seem to have so many different tests for Lyme's I wasn't sure what one was most reliable as the ELISA and Western blot are said to often give negative results. I wonder if anyone on here knows...or maybe I should just email Blue Horizon.
Thanks Greygoose as always x
You're welcome, Joyce. I'm afraid I can't help you with blood tests, I'm wondering the same thing myself! Maybe someone will come along and help.
As to the rash, it says in the article that not everyone gets it anyway. But doctors have to go by the book, and any excuse not to test!
Never heard of Bartonella.Interesting report on Yorkshire News last night of how the deer population is out of control, estimated 2 million, with thousands of road accidents p.a. and how undergrowth and trees are being destroyed as they forage to the detriment of other wildlife. No wolves to predate them. They can be hiding away in small woodland areas . they carry ticks so must be spreading them all over. Just right for those dog owners who persist in letting Fido of the lead in nice grassy ,woody areas.
Hi Grey goose
Many thanks I do have Lyme D had it from my allotment. Bully eye++ was hospitalised with IV antibiotics for two days. However wasn't followed up. I do have some of the after effects but what can you do in today's climate of our NHS.
You can look into self-treatment. Suzie Cohen gives some suggestions at the end that could be helpful.
Hi Greygoose
Thanks I have underlined to study it in more details.
