4 years ago my husband was admitted urgently to A&E following a limb fracture and was subsequently diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis. Thanks to the dedication of his hospital team he made a marvellous recovery and is now compensated and leading a normal life with no varices, ascites or other complications

First ever Medichecks Advanced Thyroid Test
Hello lovely folks, I've had my first ever Medichecks Advanced Thyroid Test and would really appreciate your views on next steps. The TSH result would indicate I need to increase levo, also I'm concerned at high CRP and antibodies! Plus I don't think I convert T4 to T3 very well. Your thoughts are very

Travel Insurance
Hi I’m in the UK and wondering about different types of insurance. I know that with APS we can’t get life insurance but I just wondered if anyone ever struggled to get travel insurance? I have so far not had any problems getting travel insurance and the cost isn’t too bad either but I’ve only been

Vitamins/supplements for cll?
I found out AFTER I was diagnosed with CLL that low vitamin D is a risk factor for getting CLL. I have had chronically low vitamin D even though I worked outside for half my working life. I was haphazard in supplementing the past 30 years. With recent research, I'm seeing all kinds of supposedly helpful

Endo is recommending radioactive iodine
At my last endocrinology appointment, it was strongly suggested I have radioactive iodine therapy. I'm not terribly keen, for reasons that many of you here have pointed out. I still don't know for sure that I have Graves'. The endo didn't think it mattered if it was Graves' or not, she would still recommend

Vitamin B12 deficiency & Low Vit D
I’ve just started on B12 injections (6 over 2 weeks ouch ) as my levels were low . Many of the symptoms are similar to what I get with heart issues, extreme tiredness and breathlessness. It was only by chance that they added B12 onto my annual check up bloods after I mentioned being more exhausted
