Flare , cold and skiing !
Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas 🎄. Just looking for some advice - i have started with a terrible cold today, and also think i am flaring up as my shoulders and neck have been really sore for the last 7-10 days, reminding me of the early days. I am off skiing on 30 Dec and wondering what to do.

Another round of Covid vaccine in UK …..
News of a new variant and adapted Covid vaccine is in the UK media to-day, raising the question for me whether to get it or not. I’m nervous as I recall my PMR starting 2 days after my very first jab (Pfizer) - my system was in a very stressed state at the time. I am currently half-way through 5-week

urgent - re steroid course of prednisolone tablets and local steroid injection at the same time?
Hi has anyone had a local steroid injection at the same time as being on a course of prednisolone tablets ? I wondered if this was a common occurrence ? and why bother with the local steroid injection whilst on a course of prednisolone steroids anyway ? there must be some reasons for and against

Struggling with flare up
Since last Wednesday my asthma has flared up. I have been taking regular reliever (mart regime fostair 100/6)every 4 hrs. I have had tight chest and peak flow dropped to 350/500. Although I not making my top peak flow as my lungs are still healing from pneumonia. Now I woke up with soreness in my diaphragm

Are Covid jab rules different in Scotland?
We moved to Scotland in April. Can we book a Covid booster as we did in England or is it different here?

COVID and Pegylated Interferon
At my last Haematology appointment the Dr told me that Interferon helps strengthen the immune system. I have also read that Interferon has been given to some patients with COVID to help with their recovery. I therefore wonder if the latest upcoming booster vaccination is required. Does anyone have

Antivirals and covid
hi all I am wondering what I should do if I caught covid again? Am I meant to get antivirals? I work in a health care setting which means I’m likely to come into contact with covid patients 🫣 I’m feeling a bit vulnerable and worried my GP hasn’t advised me of what I should know or be doing? I’m also

cardiology referral…don’t know why
since covid in 2021, I get a heart rate of 200+ during certain exercises (I am fit and healthy and now scale exercises to avoid this). Previously when speaking to GP they brushed it off as long covid. Now two years later i did running and box steps ups- my hr went to 200+ with some chest tightness. I

I thought i had recovered from Covid
I thought i was through the worst of Covid as i had been feeling much better overall, but today i did a new test and its still coming up with 2 heavy red lines and now i'm plunged into the doldrums once again. Looking back I believe the 2 years of lock down has changed us, and non-more so than the isolation

Good news or bad? Not sure.
So I was wrong. My PMR is not back like I thought. No, instead I have covid again. I am very sick but my rheumatologist put me on a pred pack to help and my husband just walked in with the viral medication for covid. At least this way I won't go into an adrenal crisis like I did last year when I got
